Garcillano is either a fool or a coward

Former Comelec Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano is either a fool or a coward. Given the chance of redeeming himself, Garcillano chose the least option--stick it out with his handlers, namely Jun Ebdane and Boy Pineda. He probably knows something other people don't. Garcillano probably thinks that his protectors can protect him for as long as it takes. 


For one, Garcillano thinks that it's safe for him to still stay in his house in Bukidnon. He proudly shows his MILF ID. He's neither a Muslim nor a sympathizer of causes but why the MILF still protects him, baffles me. Maybe he's being used as a trump card in the peace negotiations. 


Garcillano did meet Jun Ebdane a week ago during frenetic negotiations with government emisaries. There is truth to the allegation made that Garci made overtures but these stopped shortly after Ebdane reportedly called Garcillano. What the two talkedabout will remain a mystery. 


Maybe Garci had the impression that Ebdane still wields significant influence being the country's Top Mason and a governor of a province at that. What Garci does not know is that this government is hell-bent on expurging the past of undesirable names such as his. This is not for him, but for the next generation. The name Garcillano has been explicably linked with corruption and cheating that when a child is asked what's the synonym of lying and cheating, immediately he says "Garci".


Ebdane is largely credited of having orchestrated the EDSA two revolt. There is a lingering rumour of him being extremely influential with former junior officers now occupying sensitive posts in the AFP. This myth has to be changed for the benefit of the Filipino People.
