One Million Signature drive against MMDA central bus terminal plan

Commuters are now expressing their cries and anger against the MMDA central bus terminal, the so-called South West Terminal station with the launching of the One Million Cry of Filipinos against the MMDA central bus terminal scheme.

I urged my fellow Filipinos to look for advocates of the Coalition of Filipino Consumers or CFC who are now scouring the area of Coastal Mall and MRT, looking for those who oppose this plan against the commuters. The group also set a tent before the gate of Redemptorist church in Baclaran.

I texted one of the organizers, one of them, Perfecto Tagalog Medina, who updated me about the status of the signature drive. He told me that yesterday alone, they were able to gather 7,000 signatures. Last Monday, they were able to gather 2,700 signatures in less than 3 hours.

Medina even shared that 27 cases of heat strokes were reported there. People are even getting sick using those terminals.

Medina also said that the signatures they will be able to gather, will be presented before President Aquino by September 21. CFC is giving this administration only 20 days to rectify the wrongs committed by MMDA.
