Bong Revilla's "Revelations" merits a flop

If we are to assess Senator Bong Revilla's "expose" yesterday, it was both an anti-climax and definitely, a flop.

For one, his revelation about him being "chaffeured" by no less than his former colleague at the Senate and now, interior secretary Mar Roxas for a dramatic meeting with the President was already a known fact among political circles since last year. When former Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona was being tried, such "meetings" were already exposed by the Chief Justice's associates.

Fact is, why expose now? Revilla probably thought that that meeting was not "sinister" in the first place. Besides, he agreed to it, therefore, he is party to a travesty of justice. Just because he is being tried for misusing 400 million pesos of the people's hard earned taxes, Revilla now considers his former actions as violative of the Constitution, thus, merits a "revelation". Bull. Crap.

Revilla's script is a very poor one, probably written by one of his film scriptwriters. If Revilla is really  a "patriot" as he wants people to believe, then, he should have exposed this before judgment was rendered in that impeachment trial of Corona.

I remember what Revilla used as justification for his vote---he reportedly consulted his family and his family told him to do the right thing. What Revilla never mentioned at that time was he was offered a DAP, and the reason why he failed to explain this before his family is simple---that thing never existed in any of the Statute books in the first place, just in the minds of Abad. Revilla probably understood DAP to mean "DAPat parusahan si Corona."

Anyway, what people expected him to reveal were those three documents which he submitted to the Commission on Audit (CoA) and the Office of the Ombudsman, attesting the authenticity of his endorsement of several fake NGO's of Janet Lim-Napoles. Revilla never took an oath about these facts.

Revilla's revelation was an anti-climax because there is simply nothing new about what he told the public. Last year, Revilla already told the press about his signatures being reportedly forged and never really dignified the questions some journalists asked him about his supposed "meeting" with the President and his minions.

Revilla never even explained how and why he was caught in a huddle with Janet Lim Napoles or why he attended those lavish parties thrown by the former radio operator before legislators and justices. It would have been interesting if Revilla told us about those "sweet nothings" mentioned by Napoles to Revilla during those "huddles".
