Bagong Henerasyon--being protected by Comelec?

Sixto Brillantes announced that only about 100 partylist organisations out of 184 will be eligible to run in the 2013 mid-term elections. Brillantes said the primary goal of the polling body is to cleanse the list from organisations which do not represent the marginalized.

Several sources within Comelec said among those who are being slated for delisting is Bagong Henerasyon or BH, the partylist of former QC councilor Bernadette Herrera (BH) and her husband. Bagong Henerasyon, if you check their papers and the ones stated by Kontra Daya in their complaint affidavit, is a former foundation of the QC councilor. This foundation was transformed into a partylist. BH"s stated constituency alone reveals it is not eligible for accreditation.

BH's constituency is three---women, children and the youth---sectors which the first nominee Bernadette Herrera does not belong. BH is a real estate developer.

Several wagging tongues say, the Comelec will allow BH to run because Bernadette Herrera is being protected by Speaker Belmonte. BH, according to several intrigueros, is reportedly the favorite of Belmonte when he was still mayor of Quezon City. How true?

And how true rumours are that BH has solicited the help of Belmonte in "reaching out" to some members of the poll body, including, Brillantes?

I am sure the Comelec's popularity and trust ratings have improved since they started purging the lists of bogus partylists. The main question is--will Comelec's record fall or "improve" in BH's case?

I am not personally against BH but I want to see if the poll body is really dead serious in purging the list of bogus partylists.

A PARTYLIST KNOWN FOR BEING A FAMILY OWNED FOUNDATION IS BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN DELISTED BY THE COMMISSION ON ELECTIONS BUT NEVER PUBLICLY ANNOUNCED. IS THE COMELEC WAITING FOR THE HEAVEN'S TO FALL BEFORE THEY FINALLY ANNOUNCE IT?

EVERYONE KNOWS THAT THIS PARTYLIST DOES NOT CONFORM WITH THE DEFINITION OF A PARTYLIST ORGANISATION OF THE MARGINALIZED SECTORS.

SEVERAL GROUPS ARE APPREHENSIVE THAT BAGONG HENERASYON, THE PARTYLIST RUN BY FORMER QUEZON CITY COUNCILOR BERNADETTE HERRERA-DY IS STILL USING ITS INFLUENCE TO CHANGE THE COMELEC'S DECISION.

COMELEC COMMISSIONER SIXTO BRILLANTES IS TAKING THE RIGHT AND CORRECT PATH BY CLEANSING THE LIST OF PARTYLISTS ELIGIBLE TO RUN FOR THE 2013 ELECTIONS.

BRILLANTES SAID THAT ONLY THOSE TRULY REPRESENTING THE MARGINALIZED SECTORS WILL EARN THAT SPOT IN THE CONGRESSIONAL ELECTIONS OF 2013.

BAGONG HENERASYON CLAIMS TO BE AN ORGANISATION FOR WOMEN, CHILDREN AND THE POOR. HOWEVER, MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION DOES NOT DENY THAT THE GROUP EMANATED FROM THE FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED WHEN BERNADETTE HERRERA-DY SERVED AS QUEZON CITY COUNCILOR.

THE FOUNDATION WAS TRANSFORMED INTO A PARTYLIST. HOWEVER, THAT FOUNDATION FINDS DY AS FIRST NOMINEE, HER HUSBAND AS SECOND NOMINEE, THEIR SISTER-IN-LAW AS THIRD AND THEIR FRIEND AS ANOTHER NOMINEE.

HOW IN THE WORLD DID THE COMELEC AGREE TO ALLOW BERNADETTE HERRERA-DY TO REPRESENT WOMEN, CHILDREN AND THE YOUTH WHEN HERRERA IS NOT A MEMBER OF THE MARGINALIZED SECTORS.

HERRERA-DY IS A WEALTHY REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER. THIS EXPLAINS WHY SEVERAL OF HERRERA-DY'S BILLS FILED IN CONGRESS ARE ALL REAL ESTATE RELATED OR ASSISTING HELPING THE ACTIVITIES OF HIS FATHER, WHO, ACCORDING TO REPORTS, HAS INTERESTS IN ONE GOVERNMENT UTILITY COMPANY.

OR, THERE IS A PLAUSIBLE EXPLANATION WHY DY REMAINS AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE POOR? PROBABLY PRIOR TO HER BEING A REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER, YES, BERNADETTE HERRERA-DY WAS AS POOR AS A RAT. 

Bogus Partylists target of Comelec

I highly commend Commission on Elections Chairman Sixto Brilliantes for having a strong political will. Recently, the poll body just invalidated the right to campaign and run for elections of Ang Galing partylist, the partylist of former presidential son, Mikey Arroyo. The findings show what people already knew from the start--that the partylist is really not a true representative of the sector which it claims it represents. 

Mikey is not a security guard. Well, he once was a part of those who defended the illicit regime of her mother, but that was it. That was the only time he became a guard, a guard of the worst kind.

There are other partylist organisations which are being controlled by families and political dynasties. There are those who claim to represent the marginalize but use these partylists to pursue their own personal and fiduciary interests.

Comelec insiders point to these partylists as eligible for delisting:

First on the list is the Bagong Henerasyon partylist. I looked at this partylist credentials and information and found that it was the private foundation of former Quezon city councilor Bernadette Herrera-Dy. Fact is, this partylist is a creation of her family, that's why its initials mimick hers--BH.

Bernadette Herrera, according to the very admission of the partylist, is a real estate developer, a member of Creba, whose members tried and failed to successfully run for the partylist Congressional elections. 

According to my research, her father, Alejandro, sits as president of a firm which has interests at the MWSS. Recently, her father's proposal to get a water servicing contract with the MWSS was roughly rejected. 

I also examined most of the bills filed by Herrera and those which she really pursued were mostly housing and real estate bills. Meaning, she is targetting getting projects for which she is possibly to profit from. 

I also checked on the papers BH submitted to the Comelec for accreditation and found that Edgar Allan Dy, the second nominee of this partylist organisation, is her husband!

Several political observers which live in Quezon City also told me that the reason why BH or Bernadette Herrera-Dy formed this partylist is to be able to enter Congress at the backdoor, since she cannot directly fight Vicente Crisologo for the Congressional seat in the 1st district of Quezon City.

Now that Bingbong Crisologo has now served his second term, BH is reportedly salivating to run for the district. 

There are also several other partylist organisations which are being controlled by families. When the idea of the partylist organisation was conceived, it was so that the marginalized sectors would be able to represent themselves before Congress. 

I'll reveal them one by one here.

I am supporting the campaign to promote the true and patriotic representatives of the marginalized sectors. Let us expose these partylist s being used by politicians and businessmen and even vice groups to advance their own interests and not the interests of the people. 

Fight against these bogus partylists!
