Senate passes National Design Policy Act

Senate Bill no. 3071 or the National Design policy bill has been passed. Senate Bill no. 3071 supports Filipino creativity and use it to stir sustainable economic development towards viable trade benefits.

Senator Teofisto Guingona, a staunch Filipino nationalist, welcomes the passage of this bill. He said, and let me quote him from his official press statement.

" Design fuses art, culture, business, science and technology towards the paramount goal of solving problems, which in turn, leads to improving the quality of human life".

Guingona hopes that design would become the "key element to the country's research and innovation strategy"
