First Gentleman Mike Arroyo is staying behind while his wife, Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo goes back to pay her last respects to President Cory Aquino. Aquino will arrive at 3 in the morning. Gloria will go straight to the Manila Cathedral.
Why is FG staying behind? According to very reliable sources, FG intends to allegedly fix his legal problems with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over money laundering charges. He will reportedly give some testimonies on the investigation. There was daw a negotiation between FG and the FBI for him to cooperate with the money laundering activities of several of FG's business associates. The FBI, however, is mum about this.
After giving his testimony before FBI authorities, FG will go straight to San Francisco and an undisclosed US city to fix their tax problems. Several of their properties encountered tax problems and the State is reportedly thinking of filing several tax evasion cases against them. FG reportedly decided to divest themselves of these properties and sell them instead. They will then settle in retirement in Portugal where they already brought several luxurious villas.
