The Land Transportation Office (LTO) today announced that starting October, those who will renew their vehicle registrations will have to purchase tracking devices for their vehicles. The plan includes not just sedans, but all types of vehicles.
The cost? 350 pesos per tracking device.
You ask---why? What's the use of these tracking devices?
Are we living in an uber paranoid society that we need tracking devices? Why is government planning to implement such a plan, when we simply don't need it?
I think this is just a very ingenious plan to extort money from us. And, again, this hair-brained idea came from Stradcom, yes, the agency of Cesar Quiambao.
Is this a sort of midnight deal?
This is not only a violation of our Constitutional rights. This is as stupid as the national id system before.
What if I'm a vocal opponent of this government? Will I allow myself to be tracked by these evil government? Of course not!
Tutulan ang paglalagay ng tracking devices sa ating mga sasakyan!
