TV 5 anchor Erwin Tulfo exposed in their news program the possibility of Verson Evangelista and the son of Atty. Oliver Lozano as part of the carjacking syndicate that reportedly conspired to kill them. Verson and Lozano were found murdered, their bodies burned. Both were car dealers. And according to reports, both were found in Central Luzon and killed or "executed" by their captors.
Two members of the Dominguez Carjacking gang were arrested and pinpointed the alleged masterminds--the Dominguez brothers who were arrested lately for carjacking charges and are out on bail. In an interview over TV Patrol, Raymund Dominguez said they will cooperate with the police.
Last night, police raided an alleged hideout of the gang somewhere in Central Luzon. Cops found incriminating pieces of evidence against the gang, including personal belongings from Verson and Oliver Lozano's son. The pieces of the puzzle are slowly being unravelled and pieced together and it is just a matter of time before cops arrest all the perpetuators of the gruesome crime.
Why did Erwin Tulfo reported the possibility of Evangelista and Lozano being part of this syndicate?
One, the manner by which these people were killed. Their deaths were not ordinary killings. They were brutally murdered. Normally, gangs have a style in executing their erring members, one of them, burning them while still alive.
Two, there are "links" between Evangelista, Lozano and the perpetuators of the crime. In an interview of Verson's wife, she reported that Verson allegedly agreed to grant a "test drive" without informing his father or his wife, which was irregular.
Cops said Verson knew those people who abducted and eventually killed him. In the case of Lozano, the possibility that there was a mistaken identity exists since probers say the gang was after another car dealer who probably looked like Lozano's son.
What were the reasons for the killings?
Deep sources within the underground revealed that remnants of the Dominguez and Bonifacio carjacking syndicates reportedly formed their own team without the knowledge of their leaders who were already "exposed".
This new group, reportedly led by a certain "Idol" or "Roger", went out to hunt the people linked to the Dominguez brothers. These second hand car dealers are possible witnesses.
Reportedly, the leader of the carjacking syndicate do not want their network further exposed with the arrests of the Dominguez brothers. Hence, the group is on a hunt.
Aside from carjacking, the group is also involved in the chop-chop operations of SUVs and AUVs. These parts are sent to several car shops in Metro Manila and some to the provinces. Some luxury vehicles carjacked are sent through ro-ro to a port in Visayas where they are shipped abroad.
Nigerian and South African contacts then get these vehicles from their Filipino counterparts and sell them abroad.
Roger is a notorious murderer, a ruthless young man, whom the Dominguez brothers' helped by posting bail. Aside from being a criminal, Roger is also an alleged drug addict. Probers say Roger and his gang mates might have been "high on drugs" when they killed their victims.
Insiders in the car dealing industry say many dealers know the operations of the Dominguez brothers. These dealers, mostly Chinos, are now in hiding. While Roger's gang is now in a manhunt.
Roger's gang is extremely dangerous. They are mostly armed and are roaming the plains of Pangasinan, according to probers. They have escaped the dragnet of the police and are now hiding in some of the resorts in Pangasinan, according to several deep sources.
I believe though that it is just a matter of time, maybe hours or at least two days before cops neutralize this notorious group.
Cops are not their only problem--rival gangs have conspired to execute this group due to the "heat" they generated.
It would just be a matter of time before they are killed.
