Aquino administration---uncaring on the plight of poor and the hungry among us

President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino told us that there is a 7.5 percent increase in GDP last quarter of last year and the economy daw is booming. Really now?

Then, why is it that the ranks of the poor expanded? The number of hungry people increased. The number of unemployed people also increased. It seems that every single thing is increasing.

You have fare increases, left and right. You have pump oil prices reaching the 40-60 mark. You have food prices skyrocketing.

Communications secretary Ricky Carandang said that government is helpless in preventing these increases due to the "movements of the local and global markets". Crap. Mr. Carandang does not know what he is talking about.

Government, indeed, has the power to actually stop these increases from happening. Fact is, just controlling the rate of smuggling would change some of the things in our economy. Arresting corrupt men and women in government is also one thing.

And even if these things are happening, if the government would just show a little care, it would have been a little nicer.

Woe to us! We elected a caring president yet he appointed uncaring men in his Cabinet. Time for a little change, I think.
