What a Binay Leadership is; and what an Aquino is

China, specifically, its Supreme Court, has just postponed the execution of the three Overseas Filipino Workers, thanks wholly to the efforts of the Vice President Jejomar Binay. Binay went out of his way to go to China and personally visit and talk with Chinese officials.

While Binay does his work on the ground, Aquino did what was expected of him---pray. And this administration even made a hurtful gesture to the relatives of the OFWs---the government started a countdown plus a call for prayer, like this administration is expecting an execution!

This government called for an ecumenical prayer, but set the time of the prayer at Angelus---a traditional praying time for Catholics! They did not even consult the INCs, the Methodists, the Reformed Christians and even the Muslims.

It was a picture of two contrasting styles of leadership---one, hopeful, while the other one, hopeless. One just gave up the ghost and resorted to prayers. The other one did what God actually wanted--pray but do something.

Binay even presented new pieces of evidence which show that the three hapless OFWs were actually victims of an Africa-based drug syndicate. These pieces of evidence were gathered independently by one of the relatives of the OFWs. The relative presented it to the Department of Foreign Affairs under Undersecretary Conejos.

And you know what this Arroyo appointee, Conejos did? He did nothing. Conejos, por dios por santo!

I call upon our people---arrest this fumbling Conejos for the crime of negligence. He failed in his duty as a government official and deserves nothing more than jail time. He let three fellow Filipinos to die by lethal injection.

Now, he wants to cover more ground by going with Binay and try to make it appear that the DFA is still doing something to save these Filipinos from the death chamber. What a guy. He actually should be fired from his job and meted a death sentence for negligence.

I congratulate the Vice President and of course, God, for this.
