Among Aquino's Cabinet members, it is only Albert del Rosario who keeps himself very busy yet non-controversial---even if he handles very controversial international issues such as the Spratlys.
His quiet diplomacy is disquieting, yet welcome to most of us. The del Rosario type of diplomacy is equitable and effective. He always produce results.
He went to the United States and secured the commitment of the world's top cop before going to China. Cool. He did a deft move. He went to China after the United States to tell China that hey we're not pushovers. We can defeat you if you refuse to abide with the Code of Conduct in the Spratlys. That's pure, smooth, and cool, diplomacy.
Mark, you should be extremely proud that you have a cool dad.
Anyway, del Rosario should push for more--he should tell China to dismantle those markers they set up and revert the status to that of 1992--when all of these China-made structures were not constructed yet. That will put the finis into the Spratlys issue, once and for all.
