I saw the list of people who decided to run for next year's mid-term elections. Quite honestly, I felt nothing but sadness.
I'm sad because inspite of so many good men and women around, these political parties chose dinosaurs and political dead weights as anchors of their campaigns. Let's look at the United Nationalist Alliance or UNA's lineup.
You have a son of a longest serving Senator, aspiring to become his father. You have a President's aunt wanting to become Senator. You have a bastard's son also wanting a seat to probably tell his half-brother " We are equals."
We don't deserve this kind of government. We don't deserve being peddled the same old faces, again and again, every after three years, we see the same old faces with the same promises of salvation and of messiah-ship.
I mean, come on! We deserve better and higher quality leaders. We pay the highest tax rate in Asia, the highest electricity and even higher water rates and we tolerate corruption and here are our supposed leaders treating us like chummy kids? That we only deserve oldies with old ideas as Senators?
