My Little Bossing, Boy Golden, 10000 hours and how Kris Aquino view her role as producer

Is this a movie or
an hour and a half of commercial?

I know, i know, don't expect much from movies featured in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival. I know that through the years, the festival has become a sort of money-making venture for local producers. This festival has been treated as some sort of way out for local producers to recoup the lost investments they did in the pre-festival months.

And for years, this Metro Manila film festival has insulted the intelligence of many Filipinos. Instead of showcasing the enormous artistic talents of our Filipino storytellers and directors, the festival has turned into a sort of holdup for the Filipino movie goers.

One prime example--this film entitled " My Little Bossing". I don't know why the parents of this child wonder of Eat Bulaga allowed her daughter to take part in this prolonged commercial/advertisement filled smorgasbord. It wasted the child's talents and probably even introduced the kid to the wrong side of showbizness.

I mean, come on, Kris Aquino! Somebody should remind Ms. Aquino that being a producer does not mean just managing the finances (meaning "funds" used in making the film) but using whatever artistry you have and applying it to make the movie interesting. Ms. Aquino probably took the title "producer" very seriously, and misinterpreted it as someone just holding the purse.

For the information of Ms. Aquino, a producer contributes towards making a movie by balancing the artistic requirements vis-a-vis finances. Instead of treating "My Little Bossing" as a movie, Ms. Aquino turned it into a prolonged commercial showcasing all the products she currently endorses. Yes, Kris Aquino was clear from the start--she wants this film to become commercially successful. Meaning, all she's after was recoup her investments as a producer. Fair enough. What Krissy missed was she's supposed to give movie goers a run for their money, not rob them of their money by making them sit and watch a movie filled with endorsements and advertisements.

If Krissy thinks that this movie is worthy of being watched, she just fooled herself and the people like what she did when she entered into those previous relationships.

Worse, the MMDA jurors even gave the film an award--third place finish. So there. These arse-lickers probably wanted some government posts for themselves.

As for Boy Golden, I don't know why Laguna governor ER Ejercito continues to produce movies of gangsters of the past. Boy Golden was not as legendary as Asiong Salonga was in his heyday. Boy Golden was an outright badass, who killed many people and oppressed the masses. There was nothing glamorous or note worthy about him except perhaps his amorous relationships with beautiful girls such as the likes of KC Concepcion.

KC Concepcion is a revelation here, but then again, she is a miscast. Her character requires someone who looks or appears like "experienced" sexually, I mean. KC's beauty is still young, and the depth expected in her character, is simply not there. It is not yet time for KC to transition herself from drama to action.

It would have been better if the producers chose Heart Evangelista for the role. Heart needs these kinds of roles. She's sexy. She's sultry. Or probably, Diana Zubiri (although she needs to lose more pounds).

The best film this year is this 10000 hours. This is the kind of film that does not insult the movie goers intelligence. It is superior in all aspects. It is a complete film. It deserves an A rating.
