The thing about date rapes is the fact that there is a very thin line which separates it from consentual sex. Usually, girls or women victims do not report them to the police because they themselves are doubtful whether the court would believe that the sex that happened was not consentual at all and they resisted. However, how can you prove that when you were drunk at that time?
Usually, women belonging to elite and the middle classes who consider themselves as victims do not report these things because they do not want to undergo the trauma of a court trial. Imagine the horror a victim undergoes when the accused counsel tries every trick in the book, usually humiliating the victim, to prove innocence of his client. That shatters women victimized by this crime called date rape.
Now, was that date rape, the thing that happened between Deniece and Vhong Navarro? We just don't know. It is Deniece word against Navarro. Deniece might have felt that it was. Navarro believes that it was'nt.
