Melo del Prado cleared by GMA7 in pork barrel scam case

GMA7-DZBB had just cleared my dear friend, broadcaster Melo del Prado from complixity in the pork barrel scam. Angela Cruz, assistant vice president for communications of GMA7, head of a three-man panel, says that Del Prado's papers, which includes all his tax income statements and all advertising contracts are in order.

This is what I am saying all along---that it is quite dangerous for anybody, including the Philippine Daily Inquirer--to publish such things against anybody without appropriate supporting documents. What now?

With this, Mr. del Prado had all the right to file libel charges against the Philippine Daily Inquirer. The news report which tagged Mr. del Prado as a beneficiary of Janet Lim-Napoles' pork barrel fund scheme is at best, highly malicious.

I suspect that those who want to publish these so-called "incriminating list" intends to create a chilling effect to muzzle the media from commenting against the plan of government to turn Napoles into a "state witness".
