Gordon is all mouth, no action

Quo vadis, Mr. Senator Richard Gordon? What happened to JOc-Joc Bolante? Think we forgot about it? So, he's as free as a bird despite stealing a billion pesos from us? He's now enjoying his riches.

It seems that you're not doing your job, Mr. Senator. You're all bombast, no action. You just fooled us, the people, into believing that what you did at the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee would lead to justice. But, what now? Where's our justice? We have'nt seen any one being jailed. Are you part of the conspiracy to dilute the Bolante fertilizer fund scam and again fool the people that government is doing something, when, nothing came out of it?

And now, you want to be president?

I am now near believing that the Senate is a big boudavil, or a big ACT, just for the entertainment of our impoverished folk.

  1. Pat,

I've already seen the draft of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee report on Bolante and the Fertilizer Fund Scam.

I think it builds on the Magsaysay Report (CR 54 of the 13th Congress) and it will really now all be up to the Department of Justice or the Ombudsman to pursue a case against Bolante.

He has already sounded off that the possibility of initiating impeachment proceedings against the Ombudsman may be in the offing if she doesn't do anything at this point. More than a thousand days have passed since the Magsaysay Report and nothing.

The Senate, by its very nature, can only recommend the filing of charges and legislate laws.

Instead of training rants at Gordon, why aren't we ranting against the Ombudsman? Just a question.

The action that Senator Gordon has taken is to file several bills that will close the legal loopholes exploited in the Fertilizer Fund Scam.

Bills will be filed to amend 2001 Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, Secrecy of Bank Deposits Act, Government Procurement Reform Act, and Omnibus Election Code.

I've already seen these drafts too and while they need more work, they are steps in the right direction.
