"Doon Po sa Amin"--a New Mag by Filipinos and For Filipinos

Since when did we ever saw or read a magazine that discusses interesting slices of ordinary Pinoy life? Look at all those magazines in book stores and newspaper stalls—their topics range from sex to gadgets to clothes. Or teeny bopper issues normally discussed by Western teenagers.

We pay decent money buying all these stuff when, come to think of it, they discuss issues which is rarely talked about by the majority of our people. These magazines, with all their Western titles, present a life style alien to most and even most illusory and never aspired by many.

And if we are to look deeper into this--these magazines make us more Westernized, which slowly affects our individual bottomlines--our Filipino souls.

That’s about to change with the arrival of “Doon Po sa Amin”, a new magazine for Filipinos created by renown journalist Arlyn de la Cruz.

” Doon po sa amin” is unique. It presents stories of Filipinos ONLY. It provokes discussion. It presents delicious intrigue meant not to sell something, but to provide avenues for Filipinos to talk things among themselves.

“Doon po sa amin” only sells one thing---all things Pinoy. And the profits are tremendous. You get to read it for FREE, but the societal impact of such a magazine outsells any other revolutionary enterprise because it aims to re-discover the lost soul of the Filipino.

And what’s good about it—it’s FREE. You can get a copy of this wonderful magazine when you ride an MRT.

I congratulate the people behind this fantastic venture, especially Arlyn de la Cruz. My friend, you provided the people with the right weapon for change—a thought-provoking, intriguing and interesting platform that aims to spark the right revolution—the revolution of enlightenment.

As what my Professor, Dr. Zeus Salazar said, it is time for us to talk among ourselves and let the foreigners figure out who we are. We have been explaining ourselves to them for centuries and time to sit down and talk things over with fellow Filipinos.

Doing so, means that, at one point, we will re-discover those ties that bind us as a Nation, and definitely, will move us to the direction of consciousness building. When we achieve a unitary consciousness, that will empower us to move swiftly towards societal change.

Arlyn, you did the country a great service. And I hope other Filipinos, especially those who own companies or work as Marketing managers for multinational companies, support this great and exciting venture of Arlyn de la Cruz and other Filipinos.

Mabuhay ka Arlyn!
