General Angelo Reyes' son Mark said father killed himself out of love of family and of the AFP

Mark Reyes' statement today is quite disturbing. The son of ex-General Angelo Reyes said that his father did what he did out of love. Love of what, you may ask? Love of his family and the institution, the AFP.

This disturbs me in the sense that Mark wanted to impress upon us that Reyes killed himself to spare his family of what? Of ignominy because of his actions as Chief of Staff? Of humiliation because he himself thought that he committed something abominable? Of possible criminal prosecution?

We all know that the family of the late General will never ever be questioned, ever again, of their possible complicity on the alleged involvement of Reyes in the AFP fund mess. Under our laws, criminal liability is extinguished by death. If at all, Reyes did what he did, the liability has already been extinguished.

Of course, the family or some of their members, if a case is pursued really by the State, and prosecutors found out that a family member or some of them profitted from the gains of Reyes' alleged stash, then, they are still liable to suffer imprisonment under our laws.

Reyes' death did not assure a steady, peaceful and quiet life for his family. They will always be tormented by this event, really. Fact is, the Reyes family lost their real ace in this one.

Mark said Reyes committed suicide out of love for the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Question--is the organization asking or demanding that Reyes end his life? No.

What the entire AFP is asking of him is reveal the truth---who profitted from the monies of the soldiers during his time? Who were his associates? How high up did these things go?

What his beloved institution wanted to know from him was did his Commander-in-Chief tolerated all of these things and did nothing? How many generals profitted from the monies of the organisation?

Reyes' death was worthless for the petty soldier and those in the fields who are still risking their lives for the sake of the Republic.

Reyes killed himself to forever protect those, like him, committed grave injustices against the Filipino People.

Reyes killed himself so that those secrets which he locked deep within his battered heart would forever be sealed.

Seriously, Reyes killed himself because he perpetually wanted to protect the real people who made him as what he was---a professional soldier turned politico.

Senator Trillianes, if we are to believe him, said that his camp and the camp of Reyes were on the verge of cooperating with each other, when this tragic thing happened. Reyes was silently being forced by people who wanted to know the truth, to join them, and come out in the open.

Meaning, well-meaning people wanted Reyes to rat his mafia associates, spill his heart out, and join the increasing number of people who really wanted to cleanse the military organisation of its filth.

Instead of ratting his former colleagues and friends, Reyes opted to silence himself and spare him from that ignominious title of a rat, a tell-tattle.

Reyes did the honorable way out--for a member of a mafia, that was his way out.

Reyes sacrificed his life for the mafia within the Armed Forces of the Philippines. He gave up his life for his buddies, so that they will forever remain, wealthy, unblemished and unsullied.

Reyes gave up his life for those who, for nine long years, systematically stole the monies of the people, and lived a life of plenty and of immorality while the rest of the people wallow in extreme inhumanity.

The ex-General did not die for his fellow soldier. No. He died for those big-bellied sonafabitches who unconscientiously fatten themselves with ill-gotten monies.

Reyes never fought for the soldier, no. He fought for his Commander-in-Chief, the boss of the bosses, the poster girl of the Generals and of the corrupt men and women of the former dispensation who never grew consciences all their lives and infected our society with their Satanic mores.

These devils in barong, those demons in Amerikanas still walk among us, proud of their thievery and proud of stealing billions from us without they sweating for it, or sacrificing even just one cent of their own monies as capital.

These people, mighty and proud, all praise Reyes for what he did. They will all now sleep soundly at night, knowing that people, especially those Senators up there, would now keep their mouths shut and would now refrain themselves from digging deeper into the mess the AFP is now in.

Know this though---the time is now at hand for God's justice to spring forth from the loins of the suffering masses.

I believe that there is still a God of Heaven, listening to our pleas for Justice and extending His hand and eventually punish those who oppress us.

The pleas of the suffering and hungry people have reached the ears of God, and one day, like what God did with the Pharaoh and his disbelieving people, God will extend His Hand, and smite those who continually oppress the people.

One day, these people who continually steal our monies, will all be killed or will all waste their bodies away. They will suffer extreme boils in their bodies. Cancer will slowly eat their extremities. God will strike them with terrible diseases, of which, not a single cent from their stash will ever give them any relief.

The redemption of the AFP nor of the Filipino People will never come from those selfish megalomaniacal self-appointed messiahs of this country.

The People will one day stand up, once more, and through the Spirit of God, will unite themselves under the Banner of the One God of Justice, and smite all those who sinned against this beautiful country. God will root out evil. GOd will show us the true path towards change.

  1. I believe that what has happened is the law of Karma! I agree with you that we should all wake up and do good. One day we might just wake up with God punishing all of our wrong doings in this life. It is not too late I hope for our country. Keep on writing and analyzing our poor situation.Prayers will help a lot and hopefully people will realize that life is indeed too short to concentrate only in doing evil. God bless the Philippines!
