It gladdens my heart that, in one of his interviews, Customs Chief Ruffy Biazon reveals that he knows what ails the bureau he was given to cleanse from graft and corruption. Biazon says that in order to cleanse the Bureau, it must stripped of all of its contents, and " built from the ground up." What Biazon meant was the total overhauling of this bureau of corruption, err, customs.
“If we really want to change the system we might as well abolish the bureau and rebuild from scratch.” says Biazon.
Okey, we, the People agree. So, why are you not abolishing this bureau and rebuilt it from ground up?
Had it been your father, the former AFP Chief of Staff General Rodolfo Biazon who was given the marching orders to solve a riddle like the BOC, I DARE SAY THAT THIS BOC WOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE DRESSING DOWN IT DESERVES THE VERY FIRST MONTH HE IS IN OFFICE.
It takes a very strong political will to do what is necessary, Mr. Ruffy. This post was given to you because you are a bible-believing Christian. You have the moral will, you hold a moral compass that assures the President that you will not succumb to the wiles of the flesh, so to speak, that the Customs commissioner's post wields in those who previously headed it.
Yes, you busted several smuggling cases but we the people did not see anybody put in jail or arrested for that crime of smuggling.
I went recently to Subic and found hundreds of luxury vehicles all lined up for sale there. Isn't there a ban already against the importation of second-hand cars?
I also noticed several hundreds of container vans there and was given information that oil smuggling is rampant there, made even worse than before.
What are you doing about it, Mr. Ruffy Biazon?
BY deciding not to do anything about this scourge, you, Mr. Biazon, is in effect, a party to this monumental crime of corruption.
As I said in my previous post, there is still time.
Grab the spotlight--change the BUreau of Customs, Mr. Biazon.
ARREST ALL SMUGGLERS. JAIL THE CORRUPT MEN AND WOMEN OF THE BUREAU OF CUSTOMS.
IF YOU NEED THE HELP OF THE PEOPLE, YOU WILL GET IT! IF YOU NEED A LIST OF THOSE WHO CONTINUES TO OPERATE ILLEGALLY AT THE BUREAU OF CUSTOMS, THEN, START WITH THE LIST OF IMPORTERS.
CLEANSE THE LIST AND INSTITUTE A THOROUGH REVIEW.
REVIEW THE PERFORMANCE OF EVERY SINGLE PORT COLLECTOR, THEIR CLERKS AND ALL THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROCESSING OF PAPERS.
PUT EVERY CUSTOMS OFFICIAL UNDER LIFESTYLE CHECK. THOSE WHO WILL FAIL, FILE CHARGES AGAINST THEM, AND PUT THEM BEHIND BARS.
AS A CHRISTIAN, IT IS YOUR DUTY, YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, AS A SLAVE OF CHRIST, TO ROOT OUT EVIL WHEREVER AND WHENEVER THEY OCCUR.
