BIR commissioner Sonny Sevilla and the rest of the deputy commissioners have just warmed their seats, when the Philippine Daily Inquirer released a two-part series describing how customs collections got affected by the illicit activities of three big-time smugglers of rice.
One of the three has been identified as Davidson Tan. It seems that this person is a pure Filipino-Chinese. What people do not know is that the surname of Davidson is not Tan, but Bantayan.
Yes, this person is indeed a Filipino-Chinese but his true surname is Bantayan, not Tan.
This alleged smuggler is quite known in the industry because of his strong links with a former official of the Aquino administration who now faces a criminal charge because of alleged graft and corruption when he was still an administrator. This person is once the communications adviser of a former PNP chief who became a legislator. He likewise advised a former president who was jailed.
Davidson is reportedly close to the Powers-That-Be. He is proximate to the Center of Power because of his alleged links with a presidential uncle. He likewise partners with a certain Danny Ngo.
Davidson is very influential. He came into influence during the time of Customs commissioner Napoleon "Boy" Morales.
Sources say, Davidson hires members of the NBI and the PNP as his bodyguards. He uses two persons by the names of Ely and Hermie. Ely reportedly gives the monthly take to the Commissioners while Hermie does the coordination with other officials.
Another "influential smuggler" who continues to operate in this country is a person named Tina Yu. Her full name is Tina Vidal.
This person claims to be friends with officials in the Aquino administration. She is reportedly very close to certain members of the Aquino cabinet and is "untouchable".
Other untouchable smugglers are the following:
Armand Ng, Richard Ng, Edwin Santos, Noel Mariano, Leonida Dalida alyas Josie Permeho and Ahan Chong.
Now you know.
The New Patriots are watching you.

Rampant smuggling thanks to Ms. Yu
Since she does not use her real name, then, it is safe to write her name here.
Tina Yu is still allegedly behind illegal and rampant smuggling at the Bureau of Customs. Be it your lowly China-made toothbrush to your steel products, there's a "Tina Yu" mark there. Reason? Well, she's your smuggler par excellence, your Empress Dowager of smuggling. Since the time of Marcos to the time of Cory's son, Tina Yu's name has been linked to rampant smuggling.
Of course, Tina Yu does not care if her name is dragged into these controversies. The more people talk about you, the more influential you become. That's the rule in the world of big-time operators.
Tina Yu does not care if I name her here coz it's not her real name anyway. She goes by other names like Tina Santos, Tin-tin Cruz, Tina Yu-Yu, Tina Yu-An, etal.
Of course, she does not care if she's being hit left and right, and she does not care if she is being linked as the big Dowager, lurking shadow behind smuggling activities of the allies of the former dispensation.
The thing is, Tina Yu's activities are now being linked to an ongoing destabilization efforts. Accounts say, Tina Yu's billion peso racket is funding destabilization efforts against the Aquino administration. Now, who controls Tina Yu?
Abangan!

The Hunger Games--Who are our Filipino Tributes
Who would be our tributes in case that post-apocalyptic scenario in the movie, The Hunger Games, happened here in the Philippines? Well, for this fine Sunday morning, let me nominate twelve (12) possible tributes.
1. Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago--This highly trained marksperson would surely give the competition a nice fight. Imagine, with her expertise in handling guns, Miriam would not only kill her competition---she will also make them deaf with her lectures. Look at what happened to Atty. Vitaliano. :-)
2. Senator Lito Lapid---Reprising his role as Leon Guerrero, Lapid would surely bring the Hunger Games to the next level! What Guerrero will do is ask Tagalog questions, and when the competition failed to even understand his Tagalog, would open fire and get them all tied up with his lasso.
3. Justice Antonio Carpio---One less person who want to dominate politics through his rent-seeking ways. Enough said. Carpio is no marksman, but his glib tongue would be just fine. Imagine him sneaking his way out in every rut for more than twenty years already, regardless of who's in top. That's Firm.
4. Energy secretary Jose Almendras. I remember one useless simpleton in my middle school class. He's such a useless guy that every single time that a teacher wants a volunteer, we would convince him to volunteer. In Almendras' case, he is so useless, it is unimaginable why still give a budget to the Department of Energy, when, all this department does is approve big-ticket energy projects without even providing a road-map on how to solve the humongous energy needs of this country. Level of survival at the games, nil. Level of fighting at the games, neophyte. Score after the games, zero.
5. DTI secretary Domingo. This is also one guy who seems nebulous when it comes to his job. He does not know anything and keeps on blabbering and not keeping tab on rising prices of commodities.
6. Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. He was designated as crime czar but all he does is Noynoying. Ochoa is also a useless guy. Remember the very first Executive Order issued by this President? Remember the ruckus it created because obviously, that E.O. was poorly written. Yet, Ochoa never really admitted culpability and just continued providing erroneous counsel to an unknowing President.
7. Jovito Palparan. Now, we will know how this guy really is, if he, indeed, is the butcher that his accusers say he is. Without his army, can the Butcher survive the Hunger Games alone? Odds are 50 to 1.
8. Tina Yu aka Tina Santos now. A survivor of the Bureau of Customs, Tina Yu is still operating her illegal smuggling ways at the Bureau of Customs, using other dummies. Even a Jaguar of a General, General Danny Lim, is helpless. In the Hunger Games, I would like to know how strong Tina really is. Can Tina smuggle her way out of the Games? Let's see!
9. Sonny Coloma and Ricky Carandang. For the first time in the history of the Hunger Games, we have allowed the nomination of two tributes from just one satellite. Reason: even these two can't survive it. Imagine the prescription they gave the President in neutralizing what the President's detractors say about their principal? Release photos of him doing something, just to prove that he, indeed, is working his ass off. How can these two survive? By saying sorry, every single time? Whoa.
10. PNP chief Nick Bartolome. He's the head of the national police and really, people are asking where they are, really. Yet, I don't blame him. The PNP lacks the proper modern equipment to really fight crime. That's why the best solution, according to Bart, is re-impose the death penalty, to create a chilling effect. But, as I said in previous posts, when a person is being pushed to the wall due to extreme poverty and hunger, you can't simply ask him not to do illegal things. He'll do whatever available for him to satiate his hunger. That's what many people are doing---resorting to illicit ways just to survive this harsh environment of rising oil prices and food stuffs.
11. SWS and Pulse Asia pollsters. Imagine these people allowing themselves to be dragged into politics. Imagine them destroying their very reputation, releasing those surveys to influence public opinion. Time to really build an alternative poll body which will really show and reflect the people's sentiments. These two polling firms are doing their best defending the status quo, hiding the real facts from us, the People.
12. Bong Naguiat Jr. He threw everything out in the window, abandoning the straight path and sided with someone who's reputation is questionable. It is also questionable if he can survive the Hunger Games.

Notorious BOC smuggler Tina Yu collects for Aquino Cabinet Official
Corruption still reeks at the Bureau of Customs.
Who is this Cabinet official who regularly receives grease money from smugglers at the Bureau of Customs?
This Cabinet official of the Aquino administration receives millions of pesos from a certain "Tina Yu".
Tina Yu is one of eight big-time players at the Bureau of Customs. She is actually not a pure Chinese-Filipina but a Filipina by the real of Maria L. Vilal.
Vilal reportedly maintains a bank account with a branch in Aurora, Notre dame with a savings account number of 20112232_. (Sorry guys for the missing last number. I did this to protect myself and my family)
This savings account is being used to pass the grease monies to Vilal, onto the accounts of the Cabinet official and another former high-ranking official of the Bureau of Customs.
The practice is--big players deposit amounts to this bank account and in turn, Vilal does a funds transfer to maintain the balance at 250,000 pesos. Daily transactions run by the thousands and the millions even.
These amounts have been negotiated by Vilal (aka Tina Yu) in the millions. With her, are a group of notorious big-time fixers within the bureau namely M. Santos, D. Dee and M. Chang. Another former BOC official by the name of R. Sacramento is also part of this syndicate.
These same characters were the ones involved in the big time smuggling of onions, believed to have carried millions of pesos worth of illegal drugs to the country.
NPR got the information that illegal drugs are being smuggled here, in this country, using onion shipments.
Paging the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Anti Money Laundering Council! Please scrutinize this controversial bank account.

Bureau of Customs scores big with intercept of big resins shipment
The main thing about this government is its sincerity in its fight against graft and corruption. Just like what is happening right now at the Bureau of Customs. Idealistic people are slowly entering the service and changing the face of this once-troubled agency.
Yet, brokers and corrupt men still lurk along the dark alleys of this government agency.
When BOC Commissioner Angelito Alvarez instituted tight controls on warehousing, smugglers went on another route, this time, using transhipment to bring in tons of plastic resin inside the country. Transshipment, if you don't know, deprives the government of billions of pesos worth of customs duties and taxes because no taxes are being paid under the transhippment declaration.
Yesterday, my source received an intelligence report that a particular transshipment of 6 x40 said to contain plastic resin materials was to be diverted elsewhere. The former reason was just a transfer from MCIP to the Port of Manila.
The source then ordered his men to follow the delivery trucks. The tail ended in a warehouse at Industrial Road, Karuhatan Valenzuela. Based on the report, the consignee is XURICH Corporation, while the alleged broker is Tina Yu. The container numbers are as follows:
EMCU 1376406
GATU 4454417
FSCU 4490836
MLCU 5151343
EISU 1623556
EISU 1738107
Fresh reports say the containers are still there. Congratulations to the Bureau of Customs for apprehending and pro-actively cleansing its ranks of corrupt men and women.
Congratulations to BOC Commissioner Angelito Alvarez and his men over at the intelligence division.
