Anong silbi ng pamahalaan kundi nito kayang protektahan tayong mga mamamayan?

Nakapanghihilakbot ang mga nagaganap sa ating bayan sa kasalukuyan.

Masakit isiping ang mga kababayan nating nagsisikhay sa kanilang pamumuhay at tinalikuran ang kanilang mga pamilya't lupang sinilangan ay ngayo'y biktima rin ng mapamuksang hangarin ng kapwa kababayang nasasa pamahalaan.

Nagtayo tayo ng isang pamahalaan para sa iisang hangarin---isulong ang ating kagalingan. Bawat pamahalaan ay naka-angla sa iisang paniniwala---na itinayo ang pamahalaan upang protektahan laban sa pwersang mapamuksa ang mga mamamayang nais lamang ng katahimikan.

Ganyan ba ang pamahalaan natin sa kasalukuyan?

Nararapat protektahan ang mga mamamayan laban sa mapamuksang gawain ng ilang mangangalakal---ito ba ang ginagawa sa kasalukuyan ng pamahalaan?

Protektado dapat tayo sa epekto ng mataas na presyo ng mga pangunahing bilihin, gayundin sa singil sa kuryente, tubig at maging sa transportasyon---ito ba ang prayoridad ng pamahalaan ngayon?

Protektado dapat tayo sa predatoryong gawain ng mga kumpanya sa telekommunikasyon--ito ba ay nagagawang mabuti ng pamahalaan?

May karapatan ang bawat isa na mamuhay ng tahimik sa kanyang tirahan---may katahimikan ba sa pamayanan natin ngayon lalo't higit sa mga lansangan?

Nakalulungkot isipin na milyong Pilipino ang nangibang bansa upang takasan ang "kalakaran" ng kapabayaan sa kanyang Inang Bayan. Ang ilan sa kanila'y pinalad samantalang ang karamihan naman ay hindi.

Sa bungkos ng mga PIlipinong nabiktima ng "kalakaran" ng pandaraya, nakapanghihilakbot marinig na kapwa Pilipino pa nila ang nagiging kasangkapan ng kabulastugan ng laman.

Nabiktima ka na ng dayuhang mang-aapi, bababuyin ka pa ng mga opisyales de gobyernong pinagkatiwalaan upang pangalagaan ang iyong kapakanan bilang mamamayang namalagi sa ibang bayan.

Kailangang sikilin ang buhay ng mga dambuhalang mammon na mga ito. Walang karapatang mabuhay ang mga piratang sumikil sa buhay at dangal ng iba gamit ang ngalan ng pamahalaan.

Wala ring puwang sa demokratikong lipunan ang mga opisyales de gobyerno na ang tanging hangad ay pagkakitaan ang bayan.

Sa demokrasya, anong silbi ng pamahalaan kundi nito kayang parehasin ang lahat?

No blind praise for Noynoy Aquino: What is Right, is Right.

This is for those yellowish people out there who are too blind to see the truth. 


This is a fact---even before you guys admired and voted for Pnoy, I was already there with them since 2008! Yes, I am a certified early supporter of Mar and Pnoy. We were in Balai ni Mar since November 2008. 


Balai was at that time, without people. Only Butch Abad, Chito Gascon, Mar, Noynoy and at least five others who constantly meet there at that time. Balai was my tambayan. 


When Mar's candidacy was announced, I was there at Balai, celebrating with friends. Blogger Kevin of Cebu knows that. When he courteously gave way, I was there, with Toots Ople and the rest of the gang in Club Filipino. And when Noy ran for the Presidency, I was there planning, working hard and touring the rest of the country just for him.


Two arduous years of struggle. Those who now benefitted from our sacrifice are now enjoying the perks of power. 


And you know why I even nearly sacrificed the lives of my kids and my family for Noynoy? It is because of my ardent love to my country. 


If people do not want a revolution, then, choose parliamentary struggle. Elect those whom you think would best serve this country. 


I had full trust that Noynoy will do his darnest best, and I did not fool myself into thinking that the full six year term of his would be the panacea that would cure the diseases of this country, oh no. 


When someone asked me what will happen to this country the minute Noynoy stepped inside the palace, I told him matter-o-factly, that no change will happen. The destruction wrought by the previous administration was so great, it will take years before anything normalizes. 


I am no blind follower of a hesitant leader. I am no cheering squad for a leader who refuses to listen to the cries of his fellow men.


And I oppose and fight the wrongs being wrought by these men to this country, the only one I have.


Let this be clear---it is wrong for this President to keep his friends in power when these people already destroyed or is destroying the very agenda of change by the President.


It is wrong for this President to ignore the legitimate demands of the people for true change. It is utterly wrong for this President to ignore the pleas of the people for assistance against rising fuel prices and food stuffs.


It is wrong for this President to concentrate on big-business deals that will ensure his and his associates future after his term. It is wrong to do shakedowns of various industries just so that his people would be able to negotiate terms with industry titans and accommodate his friends and his friends' requests for a slice of the revenue pie.


It is wrong for this President to prosecute a just man just because of his wrongful association with the previous regime. It is wrong to invent a pile of baseless accusations just so that his friends from the Firm would be able to replace the Chief Justice with their own.


And it is terribly wrong for this President to sacrifice everything just to kow-tow to the caprices and whims of a few rent-seekers to the detriment of the people.


I raise my fists in utter defiance. Let it be said that at least one man raised his fists at a time of great darkness.

Bernardo Carpio---the Filipino Geist--emerges from the rubble

Before those devastating storms came, I came upon a survey which reflects what Filipinos of the modern age think.

Based on that poll commissioned by a would-be politician, Filipinos are self-absorbed and selfish. As what other observers say, we, Filipinos became apathetic, closed to the world, obstinate even to the point of social neurotism.

But, as we see how our fellow Filipinos suffer from those killer floods, saw how rescuers pull out babies from the rubble and how much suffering those mothers, widows, and children orphaned by the disaster got, images blared throughout the web, we suddenly sensed a Spirit emerged from within us. Bayanihan, as we call it, became the buzz word, when people of various persuasions, of differing ideologies and belonging to clashing economic classes suddenly came together, bonded and united for one common purpose---help each other out.

When we, at one point, concluded that the Filipino zeitgeist is dead, but God, by His Mercy, pointed to us that our presumptions are terribly wrong.

That the Filipino Spirit lives, nascent from our birth, dormant like those lava beneath Mount Mayon's and rumbling below Metro Manila's paved roads. From the rubble, emerges the Filipino Geist, to be nurtured until victory is achieved. Bernardo Carpio epitomizes that geist, who emerged from his cave in Montalban, ready to devour those who destroyed this country.

Let those who want, seek and longed for change stand up and be counted.

The Intellectual Entrepreneur and the New Philippine Revolution

There's a new group out there promoting what they call the "New Revolution." Check it out at http://www.tayo-na.com. I've checked their site and it's a very simple organization calling for changes in Philippine society. It's unique because it does not have the mumbo jumpo traps of an ideology nor do it promote a new one. Quite simply, the organization wants to address the basic issues and promote basic answers to societal problems we face as a people.

Change, I presume, starts with enlightenment. This organisation strives to enlighten the masses of the need for change. Promoting no concrete platform for regime change, yet the organisation hits the core of the problems by encouraging people to talk. Initiating discussions is one of the most effective means towards change. It makes people think hard about their situation and builds up the desire to change their environment a lot faster. Being free from the trappings of traditional critiques nor ideologies, this organisation could very well encapsulate what this blogsite is all about--sparking internal discussions amongst Filipinos of all ages, thereby spreading the word and widening the broad sector involvement in true, genuine revolution.

It is time for us to talk, that's what this organisation wants us to do. For years, we have been explaining ourselves before foreigners and those from the outside. It is time for us to talk amongst ourselves and strive for a collective platform that promotes what we believe are long-lasting solutions to age-old problems.

Hence, in this new paradigm for change, the role played by the intellectual entrepreneur is all the more emphasized. The Intellectual Entrepreneur promotes knowledge and enlightenment. He/she strives to influence policy-making in government through his pen. He/she acts in concordance with democratic principles yet imbued with critical social thinking that makes change possible, both on the microcosm and macrocosm.

The intellectual entrepreneur is alive in every blogger who writes here in the blogsphere. Bloggers and social changers out there doing political work are intellectual entrepreneurs. They are the new class who will lead the broad masses to victory in this new era of revolutions.

A New Ideology

Former Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban wrote extensively on JoAl's political theorem. Though JoAl's concept has been there since the 80's, it deserves a review for two reasons: one, it remains relevant and two, it justifies a reiteration.

Our present condition needs immediate solution. The solution is political, not economic. Our economy is stable. It cannot just be totally affected by any moves, whether political or terrorism. Therefore, any change in the present set of administrators will definitely not lead to an economic crash of Argentinian proportions.

JoAl believes in a revolution, led by Caudillos. There must be a change in the socio-political system, JoAl writes because this will correct the age-old problems besetting the nation. This revolution must be led by the soldier who suffers like the common tao. The change, though revolutionary, must not change the economic system. The economic system remains the proposed system. It is the political structure which needs immediate change.

I concur with JoAl's observation. And I fully support a revolution to be lead by our enlightened soldiers.

First stage---- neutralize the weak.
Second stage--create favorable scenarios
Third stage----wait for a dramatis causa
Fourth stage---launch the storm
Fifth stage-----neutralize anti-revolutionary forces
Sixth stage-----Establish councils
Seventh stage---Peace & Order
