Bert Lina's ascension as Customs Chief: Sign of Abandonment of Tuwid na Daan and Possible Election Fraud Plan?

Two things--the palace admits that Bert Lina is an election financier of President Benign S. Aquino III and that he was formerly involved in an election anomaly as well as a businessman involved in the freight business.

With his ascension as Customs Chief, Lina's quick appointment was a cause of worry by many. For one, when Lina was still Customs chief under the Arroyo administration, that was a time when smuggling was at its peak. Likewise, Lina is an owner of AIR21, with direct dealings with the Bureau. There is obviously, a conflict of interest.

Is Lina's appointment a sign that the Aquino administration had given up and raised its hands in frustration over the continued inability of the leadership to curb rampant smuggling? Seems like it.

Former Customs chief John Sevilla says his resignation was caused by intense politicking within the bureau. Sevilla also revealed that he is being eased out primarily because he does not want to be a party to requests for fund-raising by certain political forces out to ensure the victory of a hated presidential bet in 2016.

1.5 billion pesos are the amounts of monies generated by the bureau every single day. imagine just 10% of that as protection money, that is more than enough to pay off certain people to keep their mouths shut while certain groups disfranchise the people of their voices.

Sevilla is an honourable man, a great asset of government, in any administration. This is a sad day for all of us, Filipinos, because of the corruption embedded deep into the system, persons like Sevilla who wants to serve the government with utmost honesty are now slowly being eased out and replaced by carpet baggers who knows no rules, no ethics.

Truly, there is really no way out of the rut we are in except perhaps, launch a revolution that would eliminate all these people from the very face of the earth.

Be aware---if and when these people cheat their way in 2016, expect a bloody war that will end all conflicts in this country, I assure you that. Even ordinary people like me, will go out of their comfort zones and militate and take arms against these groups.

Shame Ruffy Biazon: Porsche-riding Customs Clerk faces lifestyle check

So there.


A mere clerk of the Bureau of Customs was arrested recently when he shot and nearly killed a motorist two nights back. The Customs employee was riding his Porsche when he was reportedly sideswiped by the motorist. The Customs man gave chase. Eventually, this man was arrested.


The name of this man, the Porsche-riding Customs clerk? Paulino Elevado.


Customs chief Ruffy Biazon tried to remedy this PR fiasco by placing Elevado under investigation and training his guns against the clerk and subjecting him to a lifestyle check.


Mr. Biazon, you're toooo late. Imagine, you have been in your post as Customs chief for many months and vowed to rid the agency of misfits, and here is one man, Elevado, flaunting his wealth.


Pnoy was subjected to insults and brickbats when he bought a Porsche. Now, a mere clerk of a government bureau owning one, and the only thing that you, Mr. Biazon did was place him under investigation.


Mr. Biazon, are you blind? You should have fired the guy, pronto!! By not firing him, you, Mr. Biazon is party to the on-going corruption at the Bureau!


Why, are you afraid of a mere clerk, Mr. Biazon? And imagine, you wanted pa to be a Senator when you can't even look us in the eye and tell us straight that you do not tolerate corruption in your bureau.


Shame on you, Ruffy, shame. And I thought you're one of the persons we, the people, expect to cleanse the bureau of misfits and corrupt men. 


Mr. Biazon, under your management, the Bureau of Customs had the lowest revenue collection in history. Worst, smuggling and tara collection have gotten really very serious in the bureau. 


I'm sorry, but I have to strike your name out of those whom I consider to be real Patriots in our generation. 

General Lim's guy continues to besmirch General's name at the Bureau of Customs

How can Deputy Customs Commissioner for Intelligence Danilo Lim confront the big ogres and monsters at the bureau if there are certain people using his name to solicit funds for him?


It is confirmed by the intelligence community that General Lim does not tolerate corrupt practices and does not receive any single cent from locators, smugglers, or foreign importers. He does not maintain any bank account for this purposes nor fixes papers for big-time smugglers.


The thing really is, there is a very close friend of the General who claims to  represent him. Who is this guy? He goes by the name of retired Colonel Alan B. Paje. 


Paje reportedly collects monies from big-time locators and players at the Bureau of Customs. Unknown to Paje, there are tons of evidence already collected against him and it is just a matter of time before the forces of Reason and the Tuwid na Daan guys bust him out.


Paje was formerly Lim's campaign manager during the 2010 elections. He, like Lim, is a member of the Reform the Armed Forces Movement or RAM. He's a Bicolano, and once studied at the Marcial Ranola Memorial High School in 1967. 


Paje was one of several civilians who filed for amnesty before the DND. This includes my friend, Atty. Jose Belmonte, and several others namely, Jose Albert, Jimmy Regalario, and Jason Paul Malajacan. (that was last March 22, 2011).


Paje runs an office at Teachers' Village. This is the office he uses in illegally transacting with big-time locators and smugglers. Fact is, one of the meetings where he called those smugglers was held in this office.


Paje also transacts business with these smugglers and big time players in one of the hotels within the vicinity. 


Paje uses a certain "emman" to handle media attacks against him. This emman writes for General Lim.


General Lim, if reports are to be believed, already scolded Paje for using his name in soliciting protection money from Customs smugglers.


(I am not at liberty to divulge current efforts against Paje because it could compromise operations)


There is another guy, R. Sacramento, who is also now involved in the big-time rackets game at the Bureau who was initially thought of, as Lim's Chief of Staff. Sacramento is involved in the Tina Yu smuggling business which is the reason why he was ousted by the Bureau in the first place. 


A certain Mary Salvacion and this Sacramento guy liaises with big players at the Customs and collects monies from them. These monies, in turn, they give to Paje. Salvacion brags that she can protect the asses of those smugglers because she has the backing of General Lim.


General Lim should immediately disassociate himself with these stupid characters and this space is open for the above named individuals to issue statements clearing their names. 


The fight against corruption at the Bureau of Customs should never stop! This bureau is the microcosm of Philippine society and if these people who now hold the relm of power there are useless and weak, what more to do, Mr. President?

Corruption at the Bureau of Customs

Corruption continues at the Bureau of Customs.


A small brokerage firm is now on the brink of disaster. Why? Because a customs employee by the name of "Magno" continually harass the owner of the brokerage firm. 


This Magno collects 2 million pesos from the firm. The firm has not decided yet. Magno uses the name of his boss, a certain "Vicencio", head of the BOC CIIS. Vicencio, in turn, uses the name of Bureau of Customs Commissioner Angelito Alvarez. 


Alvarez, according to these two nincoompoops, reportedly gave them an assignment--50 million pesos per month.


NPR later learned from highly reliable sources at the BOC that this is not true. Alvarez has not given any order to collect from brokerage firms. Fact is, Alvarez has ordered for the filing of charges and arrest of those who will continue the practice of getting grease money from brokers.


Mr. Alvarez, we know you're clean. My friend, who is also your friend, told me that you don't tolerate these things.


I suggest that you fire these two people and replace them with honest ones.
