Hyatt 10---the sequel?

There is a nasty rumor doing the rounds--of Noynoy officials resigning en masse. Possibility? Probably. 


The thing about this resignation en masse is its irrationality. Why on earth will you abandon an honest guy doing exactly the opposite of what his predecessor did? 


One source say that the answer is also simple: indecisive leadership. But, is resignation the most apt answer to this? No. As part of government, one's duty is to enhance it, not just be a part of it.


The thing about what's happening right now is simple: the Aquino administration is hard put in housekeeping that they forgot the most fundamental principle of all---having a definitive plan.


The bad thing about being in government is the thinking that you'll earn millions just for being a director or an undersecretary of a government. When you enter government, expect the worst. 


Expect a drastic pay cut. Expect to be frustrated because you are actually battling a humongous and very traditional organisation that has not changed since the Spanish times.


If you're idealistic, expect to be very disappointed simply because the bureaucracy is a closed one. It has'nt changed and will not change in the next few decades.


Change will only happen if we oust the present system and re-engineer it to suit the Pinoy tastes, not the colonial tastes. FOR that to happen, the only ones worthy of such a calling are the New Patriots of the New Generation. 


Let a thousand Mayor Dutertes spring from the loins of the nationalistic segments of Filipino society. Let a million Noynoy Aquinos stand up and be counted.


As for the next Hyatt 10, you better explain yourselves fully to the People, why.

While Hyatt 10 and Samar groups fight it out, Escudero media group gains ground in new administration

The entire governmental communications network is now operating without a head. The megalith is on the verge of collapse because of the inability of the new administration to resolve the contentious issue--who will head the Communications group, the body who will replace the Office of the Press Secretary.

The plan of this administration, according to sources, is to fuse two agencies together--the OPS and the PIA. This, as envisioned by proponents, will make it easier for government to communicate its messages effectively with the people. And with just one agency, it will save money. 

Nothing wrong with the plan except that, again, according to insiders, the reason why the new administration is having a hard time enhancing their media relations is--groups within the Aquino administration are locked into what many say, a titanic battle for leadership. 

The "Samar" group, composed of Maria Montelibano and Sonny Coloma are fighting for turf against the Hyatt 10/Black and White Movement composed of Manolo Quezon and Ricky Carandang. Sources have it on good authority that either one are backing down, despite repeated appeals from various sources to stop the bickering.

The Hyatt 10 reportedly resents the purported appointment of Sonny Coloma. Coloma, according to sources, is Montelibano's "alter-ego" in the Communications Group. Since she is the president's relative, Montelibano is barred from having any government position. 

What's the problem with Coloma? Simple. BW members and several Hyatt 10 accuses Coloma of graft. Coloma, they say, is a veteran publicist. He knows the ins and outs of the industry. Good thing? Yes, it is. What people must know is Coloma is reportedly involved in shady deals with the media in the past.

Now, while these groups fight it out, the Escudero-Banayo media group is having a field day, positioning their forces inside the new administration. One of them already became an Assistant Secretary, while others are being primed to occupy certain board memberships and other government posts. 

A long-time buddy working for the government (he's not co-terminus with Arroyo) says that government employees of both PIA and OPS are feeling insecure and scared. The entire government is being destabilized by the infighting between the two groups. They don't know who'll head the Communications group and this is causing so much stress and low morale.

During Arroyo's time, this scenario was averted when the president separated the two agencies. Arroyo placed her most trusted men in the OPS while she gave the PIA to the mercy of other groups who helped her ascend to power. Arroyo knew that these agencies will cause friction among her media groups. To avoid discord, and maintain harmony, Arroyo decided to allow each and every member of her media team to get a slice of the power pie. 

Unfortunate that, in Aquino's administration, discord and disharmony prevails over genuine love for country. While they fight amongst each other, the very stability of the country remains in a very tenuous position.

Peping Cojuangco blasts Hyatt 10

AS ALWAYS, it seems like President Noynoy Aquino faces tough times ahead. Not only will he try to help his sister, Kris Aquino from again, another marriage "on the rocks", he will have to contend with his uncle, Peping Cojuangco, who is now on a media blitz against his administration.

Peping, a staunch supporter of Noynoy, and brother of Cory, has just granted an interview over TV Patrol. In the interview, Peping lamented how his nephew has acted over the past few weeks. Obviously, his group, the nefarious COPA (Council on Peping Affairs, este Philippine Affairs), is being isolated and being effectively barred from participating or taking a direct part in the Aquino administration.

He feels that Noynoy is now at the mercy of certain forces once aligned with the Arroyo administration. Peping did not directly name this group circling around Noynoy, but obviously he's referring to the Hyatt 10, former close associates and Cabinet members of Mrs. Arroyo and is aligned with the Mar Roxas group.

There's a catch though.

I thought that Peping was just blasting people away out of genuine concern for his nephew. I was terribly wrong.

At the tail end of the interview, Peping was attacking people because he wants his own people to run the show for Noynoy. And you know what that means.

Everyone knows what Peping did during the 1st Aquino administration--he used the good name of Cory for his so-called "shady deals." Many people knew how Peping exploited his filial relations to the hilt. Fact is, it was Peping who actually gave some people cause to militate against Cory. He was, as we already know, the first one who was out of power but present in every deal entered into by government, or so alleged by some quarters. He was also instrumental in that slanderous tag of "Kamaganak Incorporated."

For all these, what is so astounding about Peping's group anyway? My sources tell me that Peping Cojuangco runs the POC like a veritable fiefdom. Ask around, specifically if the POC is not, in any way, involved in shady advertising deals with companies? Ask around if POC is not involved in anyway with deals with tour operators, travel and events agencies, and you'll know why Noynoy shuns his uncle.

Every one knows what "Pastor" Boy Sayco is doing. During the Arroyo administration, he was instrumental in that deal with San Miguel Corporation and a Qatari telecommunications company. Don't tell me that Saycon did not use his government connections in that multi-billion peso deal? And don't tell me that he's not benefitting in any way in any government transaction? The pseudo Pastor has benefitted a lot during Arroyo's time and he, and Peping expects to get something too from this new administration?

As the saying goes, man has to learn how to curb his voracious appetite, otherwise, he might turn into a Nero.

Hyatt 10 warns Mrs. Arroyo not to "push her luck" with term extension

Hyatt 10, the group of former government officials of the Arroyo regime issued their strongest condemnation against their former boss today. After hearing mass at St. Jude church, the one near Malacanang, seven of the 10 tried to serve their damning statement to Mrs. Arroyo by marching to Malacanang. They were, however, stopped at the sentry gate.

These seven, former Education secretary Florencio Abad, Poverty Commissioner Teresita Deles, Imelda Nicolas, Budget secretary Emilia Boncodin, Cesar Purisima and Rene Villa. All ten signed the manifesto, including three others, Bert Lina, Juan Santos and Guillermo Parayno.

The group accused Mrs. Arroyo of instigating and creating a scenario of instability to perpetuate herself to power. " Dont push your luck", says the group, stating that the people will not anymore tolerate an extension of Mrs. Arroyo's regime. Part of the statement reads, and I quote:

“Don't push your luck. You have crossed the line too often enough. With impunity, you have exploited our people's cynicism and apathy for your own narrow and selfish ends. As with all things, this too will come to an end. Of this, we are certain. With God's help, the Filipino people will put an end to this despicable Arroyo regime."

Hyatt 10 is a group composed of former Arroyo confidante and close Cabinet members who bolted the administration shortly after the Hello Garci scandal broke out.

At the height of public confusion and finger-pointing, more people believe that these bombings happening in Mindanao and Metro Manila are being instigated by a group close to Mrs. Arroyo. In the past, destabilizations are exploited by Mrs. Arroyo. Historically, shortly after a destabilization event, Mrs. Arroyo took the occasion to cleanse her administration with disloyal subjects. Political pundits agree that this is the same tactic being employed by Mrs. Arroyo now. Hyatt 10 believes Mrs. Arroyo is not just fighting for her post-2010 survival; she is now consumed with the lust for more power. These ex-officials believe Mrs. Arroyo will try to do everything to keep herself safely in Malacanang.
