After a week of claiming that Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's health condition is worsening, here comes the doctors of the former president telling us the truth---that Mrs. Arroyo's condition has been improving and not in a way life threatening. So, it proves that that melo-dramatic incident at NAIA was staged-managed and for what? For the Arroyo couple to avoid prosecution. 

Or, as tongue waggers say, to agitate the people and shore up public anger against the administration. We know now that they failed. No one sympathized with her and her plight. That's how angry the Filipino People are against Mrs. Arroyo.

Truth, as they say, has a unique means of unveiling itself.

Sadly, even at a point of death, Mrs. Arroyo and her family continue to lie and lie before the public. 

Matanda ka na, Ginang Arroyo, tama na ang pagsisinungaling.

With that certification from her doctors, Mrs. Arroyo is also fit to go to a detention facility to serve time while her case of electoral rigging is being heard by the courts.

Of course, it is to the discretion of the courts where it would put Mrs. Arroyo. Her lawyers are calling for house arrest while the prosecution panel wants her straight in jail.

If we are to follow the law, then, there should be no debate--Gloria should serve time in a prison facility instead of her house.

It is time for us, for everybody, to implement what the law says.

Ampatuan assassins killed vital witness: Aquino should unleash the dogs of war against warlords

"Jesse", not the outlaw "Jesse James", is dead. He was felled by an assassin's bullet, three months after he surfaced before the media and admitted his participation in the gruesome November 23, 2009 massacre which killed 67 people. Jesse, the former outlaw of the Ampatuans, took part in killing those people in Datu Sharif Aguak. For that, he hid himself in the hinterlands of Maguindanao. Yet, something pricked in his heart. He wanted to tell the truth. From his hiding place, God must have ordered him to go down the mountains and revealed what really happened.

And for that, he was gunned down.

Before his assassination, Jesse had the temerity of revealing who ordered and will probably order his execution---his former boss, Datu Aguak mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr. Despite being incarcerated at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) jail, Ampatuan Jr. was reportedly allowed by his captors to call his henchmen on the lam and ordered the execution of several witnesses. That included Jesse's name.

His "prediction" came true. Shortly after three months, Jesse's name again surfaced in the newspapers, this time, as one of many who are now listed in our country's crime statistics. Before Jesse, several people in Maguindanao were also brutally executed by a family whose words are law.

Jesse's death, according to government prosecutors, will surely affect the trial for the prosecution of the Andal Ampatuan family. It will send a chilling effect among relatives of the victims and possibly, even those who wanted to testify against the Ampatuans.

Yet, fear not. For God is on the side of Just. He comforts the weak and the defenseless. And God is the God of Justice.

The state has achieved its part---defanging the Ampatuans and erasing their names in the roster of "honorables". Yet, they still have adherents in the field. They still have money. What is the anti-money laundering council doing? Why are they not freezing the assets and monies of the Ampatuans? Why is there no one conducting a lifestyle check? Those mansions are proof positive of the way this family laundered and possibly spent the people's monies.

Andal Ampatuan senior is just a petty driver when the military coddled him and provided him with ammunition to fight the Bangsamoro revolutionaries. He was so good and so brutal at it that several generals promoted his social status, from petty driver to petty mayor. From mayor, he then ascended the socio-political ladder by becoming governor. And when he was governor, he befriended several high-ranking government officials, and promised them a peaceful Maguindanao through the institution of an iron-fisted policy.

One of those high-ranking officials is former president, Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Fact is, the Ampatuans were even instrumental in her doubtful win in 2004. And the Arroyos know how to reward their loyal subjects---by giving them the right to become their relatives. Andal Ampatuan Jr., the main mastermind and executioner, even calls Mrs. Arroyo "mother". Nothing ironic there, Andal is simply telling the truth.

Mrs. Arroyo is definitely the mother of all political terrorists and warlords. Her reign saw the rise of warlordism, a definitive sign that despite what the Arroyo administration has bruited about, that of a "Strong Republic" (a state of mind invention of Rigoberto Tiglao, a dreamer turned apologist of Mrs. Arroyo), weakest is the hold of this republic in places other than Manila.

During Ampatuan's reign of terror, Maguindanao's socio-economic situation worsened. People's live stagnated. And the entire province became a personal fiefdom of the Ampatuans, whose words, according to their former servant "Lak" are law.

With this brutal slaying of Jesse, it goes to show that the Ampatuans remain a force to contend with. The propensity of this killing shows how weak, helpless and inept our government forces are.

The Ampatuans' show of brutality and force signifies how weak the state is against political warlords. This weakness is being exploited by heartless people who remain as the People's oppressors.

Time for the people to act. If the state is weak, then the People should not allow these kinds of people to even live. The continued existence of this warlord clan is blasphemy, plain and simple. Their existence is a strong condemnation of the government. Their very presence spites legitimate authority. These psychopaths pretending to be warlords are a scourge of society. They should be rooted out, condemned and exterminated. They should face the People's Tribunal and answer for their numerous crimes.

If government is weak, then, the people should be the ones to exact justice. Let the People's patriots do their part and extinguish the bravura of warlords such as these. Let the law of God prevail---cut off the hands of thieves and execute those who kill their fellow men.

Those who only know the language of violence should get what they deserve--violence. There is simply a limit of God's grace. The Good Lord orders His most noble and pious subjects to root out evil and smite the heads of devils and unbelievers with utter force.

Noynoy Aquino should make these warlord clans an example of what Philippine justice really means. Incarceration is simply too kind, too gentle to those who continually and perpetually commit gruesome crimes against the people. Aquino must revive the death penalty. And let these warlords be the first ones to suffer.

May surprise: The Plot to Replicate the Thai Model in the Philippines

Former speaker Jose de Venecia Jr's revelation last night about the planned "takeover" of the AFP leadership in June is nothing to sneeze at, let alone brush aside. For one, many sources have confirmed, even a Major General, member of PMA Class 1978, that the AFP has a "contingency plan" in case of a power vacuum after the May 10 elections. And based on who you talk to, groups are ready to clash for it, anytime. 


De Venecia  said that Bangit is poise to take over and install a military government. When the final results of the Congressional polls are in, the plan, according to De Venecia is wait for Congress to convene itself (the next session is May 30), possibly on the 30th of May, and elect a Speaker. De Venecia believes that the transitional president will still be Mrs. Arroyo.


What is so disturbing about all these is the fact that the plotters intend to install a transitional government for six months. Why is it needed? In six months, they believe, a shift from presidential to parliamentary is possible. Meaning, they will hammer the issue, they will force the issue down our throats. The real plan is still charter change---shift the governmental form or structure from presidential to parliamentary to allow Mrs. Arroyo an extension of terms.


Then, afterwards, what? Since the military hates the prospect of a Noynoy presidency, they will call for another presidential polls. 


Why is it that Mrs. Arroyo is touring abroad? She is seeking international support for the plan. And the US state department, according to my source, knows about this and will try to frustrate it. That is now the role of the new US envoy, Mr. Thomas whose record speaks volumes.


Mr. Thomas has handled very sensitive international issues and has been posted in most destabilized countries. According to some sources, the US does not intend to support any extension of Mrs. Arroyo's term.


The model these plotters are now using or trying to emulate is the Thai model. 


Now the more substantial issue is this---how will we be able to counter such a plan? Read my next blog...

Is it asking too much?

What is in store for all of us these coming weeks? Our leaders are not helping us silence these apprehensions, these fears, that we are heading towards unchartered waters in this elections. Are we safe from our government? Are we safe from those predators lurking in our midsts? Are we truly safe with our government?

Governments are supposed to be agents or instrumentality of the collective Will. They were built to reflect the collective sentiment. The Filipino only yearns for a more improved and a better quality of life. Not everybody aspires for a creation of an ideologically strong government. Not everybody desires for a more democratic one. 

The only yearning of the Filipino is simply allow him to enjoy his life, live his life the way others do and enjoy the blessings of democracy. To be able to work, get a salary, eat thrice a day and probably eventually buy his own house and die in peace. 

Such are the most basic of all Filipino sentiments that it is but unfortunate that no government has succeeded in giving him these simple things. 

I yearn for a government that is just and equitable. I yearn for a government that respects each and every individual's rights. I yearn for a government that would respect every centavo given by its people. I longed for a government that will truly embody the Filipino Soul.

Is that asking too much? That as a Filipino, I deserve better surroundings, better food, better prices of gasoline, better treatment of public officials and the assurance that my money is not being spent by some corrupt government official or private citizen?

Is it asking too much for our leaders to toe the democratic line and act morally and honestly when in government? 

Is it asking too much from our military not to allow themselves to be used for selfish, vested interests by a few whose thirst for power is unsatiable?

Is it asking too much that our courts render judicious decisions and our Supreme Court respect itself by being consistent?

And is it really asking too much for Mrs. Arroyo and her ilk to abandon all thoughts of extending themselves in office?

Scratching an itch

Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo says she's ready to face the consequence, whether it may be censure or a possible drop of her ratings, just to satiate an itch and what's that? Of course, fielding her own man to the top post in the Supreme Court. The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) as well as other legal luminaries already gave their admonitions yet, Palace spokesperson Gary Olivar said Mrs. Arroyo remains insistent that she has the right to appoint the next Chief Justice. The law is very clear---no appointments for outgoing heads of state during the election period. 

Why is it so important for Mrs. Arroyo to appoint her own man at the helm of the highest court of the land? Is it merely to secure her possible legal exit strategy once she divests herself of all power?

Many analysts see this as her way of influencing the forthcoming elections. Or, maybe just a way to scratch that speck of power dust still in her shoulders like scalp flakes.

The appointment of the Chief Justice affects the elections because the Office decides the pricky issue of presidential post-election controversies. Should there be an issue involving electoral protests from presidentiables, then, the Office of the Chief Justice is most crucial.

Another scenario is the no-proclamation scenario which definitely will weaken the democratic institutions of our country.

The Fourth Hoarseman: The LWUA Party

Last 2007, I remember one candidate who appealed to the public to plant petchay in the Senate. And since people failed to grasp what he's talking about, seeing that the Senate does not have enough loam soil for Senate staffers to use in planting the nutrient deficient plant, he failed to get what he wanted.

I'm talking about former Congressman Prospero Pichay, the man petchay of Lakas-KAMPI CMD. (By the way, the Comelec just approved the merger of the two parties).

Pichay, by the way, is a confidante of Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. He is also close to her husband, First Gentleman Mike Arroyo.

IN 2008, Pichay was appointed administrator of the LWUA, which means Local Water Utilities Administration. His appointment was low-key, the post befitting a man whom many call a political operator.

Pichay's appointment was not opposed by anyone, seeing that Pichay deserves to have a government post. He's a treasured asset of any government because he's intelligent and friendly. And he happens to be my friend since his days as a publisher of a tabloid.

And in all his life as a public servant, there were only one controversy against him---his former life as a publisher of a tabloid, which some describes as a smut publication pretending to be serious. Pichay, to be fair, was never involved in any graft case.

Now, he's embroiled in another, this time, playing host in a lavish dinner while millions wallow in extreme distress and hunger. This dinner is one version of the extravagent Le Cirque and Bobby Van dinners of his principal, Mrs. Arroyo. (see the entry of my friend Ding Gagelonia over at Midfield)

Pichay's agency just celebrated their 36th year anniversary, with a lavish dinner. LWUA spent close to half a million (some estimates) just for this. LWUA ordered 500 reservations for cocktails and 250 reservations for a seven-course dinner, attended by no less than Mrs. Arroyo.

Of course, I fully understand Pichay's penchant for a lavish dinner, seeing that his friend and boss, Mrs. Arroyo, will be gracing the occasion. Maybe Pichay thought that Mrs. Arroyo will not settle for a hamburger nor fish balls since her palate calls for French and American gourmet.

It's understandable that Pichay would use a one-name catering services for this costing P 200,000. Imagine, Mrs. Arroyo ate at the exclusive Bobby Van's and Le Cirque--she deserves catering from Henry's complete with live band.

While many portions of the metropolis were deprived of water services, drinks flowed profusely in that party. The menu consisted of baked mussels with olive oil and garlic as appetizer, “sinigang” soup, and roast pig.The main course included “kare-kare,” chicken barbeque, squid “salpicado,” spinach with chicken and garlic, “pancit” sotanghon (or canton guisado) and steamed jasmine rice. Desserts included fresh seasonal fruit platter and “buko pandan” salad. Assorted sodas, “guinumis” and home-brewed iced tea were also served.

Honestly, a 200,000 peso catered dinner is not that expensive especially since Pichay will be running again for the Senate and this amount is nothing compared with millions of pesos to be spent in electoral campaigns.

Yet, what is very disturbing is the fact that, a few meters away, scores of people were suffering due to the onslaught of Ondoy. Many impoverished people still, living below the LWUA office in Katipunan, those near the Marikina river, lost both their homes, their loved ones and were hungry. They can't afford to even eat a morsel of rice, while 400 employees of LWUA feasted in baked mussels as appetizer and Jasmine rice.

Such is our misfortune that many of our officials lost delicadeza already and they have left the people to the fates already.

Teodoro is No. 1--FVR

Yesterday's affair saw former president Fidel V. Ramos giving Defense secretary Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro his trademark thumb up sign. In FVR's mind, Teodoro is truly qualified to run for the presidency, but cut short of endorsing him, saying that he reserves that right until November 15, the day when political configurations are clearer.

Honestly, I share FVR's belief about Gibo. Among all the candidates, Gibo is, I think, the most intelligent, the most idealistic and the most straight-forward of all of them. What's best about him is he knows the system very, very well, and knows how to actually cure its infirmities. And he has this fire in his belly and the glitter in his eyes that tells you this person has the qualities of a great Leader.

What Teodoro however does not have is the right moral compass.

Teodoro thinks like an American. Look at how he views things. He says he will continue what Mrs. Arroyo accomplished and more.

If he opens his eyes a little bit, Teodoro would have seen how devastated the people are when Mrs. Arroyo's government fails to do its mandate of somewhat regulating markets. Teodoro is a typical technocrat who mouths vision without going to the market or the grocery first to see first-hand the problems.

Teodoro failed to see how Mrs. Arroyo's war policies have put the lives of thousands of Bangsamoro families in jeopardy. Teodoro only knows the language of war.

Teodoro does not see anything wrong with those scandals involving Mrs. Arroyo and her husband. He finds nothing wrong with the ZTE-NBN deal, nor does he sees anything immoral with the Joc-Joc Bolante fertilizer scam. And surely, Teodoro thinks that Hello Garci is as normal as any other telephone call.

Teodoro fails to get it when people always thumb Mrs. Arroyo's policies down. For him, okey if Mrs. Arroyo's government allows cartelization of services. Okey if families such as the Aboitizes go scot-free despite their ships killing scores of Filipinos. Okey if businessmen such as Danding Cojuangco controls most of the economy or people like Ricky Razon or Cesar Quiambao corner most government contracts.

For Teodoro, it is okey to allow Mrs. Arroyo to just fade away, allow her to enjoy retirement with monies amassed during her term.

Teodoro may have the brains. The defense secretary may have the right war strategems to use against his own people. And Teodoro may have the fire in his belly to do the right things.

But, what he does not have is the right appreciation of Philippine reality.

The blabberings of GMA's apologists

Gary Olivar, the purported "expert in economic affairs" of Mrs. Gloria Arroyo's press team, just gave Senator Noynoy Aquino an "unsolicited advice". He said that Noynoy should be a "man" and that "he should stand by his own two feet" and not bask in the legacy (or glory?) of his parents.

Olivar also lambasted people, especially Noynoy, for saying that this is a fight between "good" and "evil". Not quite, says Olivar. For neither is Gloria good nor evil. She just does her work.

Quite uncalled for, I dare say. For Gary is not the best person to say all those things, what after abandoning the struggle for the masses and deciding to work for someone who is neither a man nor a woman, but the demon personified.

Come to think of it, it's really for economic reasons that Olivar tried that cheap shot. Hey, if his boss loses the game, Olivar could find himself jobless and shirtless and maybe even the prospect of jail. When we're all finished with Gloria, Olivar, along with her apologists, will just have to spend their remaining lives either in jail or esconced in Babuyan Islands.

And Gary, for those who know him, is also neither a man nor a woman. Nothing extremely bad about it. But if you choose a gender but you don't act like one, then, you're nothing but a pitiful sissy.

Gary is just one of many who once struggled for the people but is now a paid apologist of this devil enfant. If you remember, Gary is a former anti-Marcos student leader. He used to regale many by his wit and his rantings. Now, he rants no more. He just counts his money.

When a former activist abandons his sandals, and puts on his expensive shoes and dresses like a businessman, there's not one iota of doubt that he's already worse than those people he once criticized. The worst abusers are the ones who once shouted against tyranny.

Same goes to revisionist Alex Magno, who thinks of himself as an "Marxist" emperor. When Alex was given some 10 million pesos by a former Arroyo ally to be his consultant, Alex went all out and sold his soul. Magno always credits himself with sparking twin revolts, which, for all intents and purposes, were bogus ones.

Magno has abandoned the proletarian ways and comforts himself with the luxuries of intellectual bargain hunting. Can't really blame him. The glitter of those stolen billions are much more valuable than the praises of a few intellectuals. There's no value in those praises, except maybe getting immortalized in academic circles.

It's the fault of UP because they give their professors pitiful salaries, leading some of them to go the way of the devil instead of keeping the flame alive. Like Rizal used to say, some moths just can't stop themselves from going to the fire.

Good that Bobi Tiglao, Gloria's cabalen, is now enjoying the time of his life abroad. Unlike Alex, Bobi decided that it's just time for him to go the route of a diplomat instead of crossing swords with former comrades. I doubt if Tiglao would ever dare question those Le Cirque dinners or Mikey's US$ 1.3 million house in the states. Being used to the good life these past few years have made hard-core anti-Marcos activists like him, Gary and Alex, the foremost promoters of immorality, brutality, tyranny and even anarchy. They became worse than Marcos. And if they think that they'll not get punished by the people for their ass-licking ways, think twice.

The people never forget their enemies.

Mikey Arroyo has P63.7M beachfront property in US

Mikey Arroyo, the presidential son, has a beachfront property worth P 63.7 million in California. His younger sibling, Dato, is not to be outdone--he has one P 26.7 million brought by his wife a year after he won a Congressional seat in 2007. What's sooo good about being a presidential son, Mikey even has a business interest in Beach Way Park on Beach Way Boulevard---the location of his beachfront property.

Of course, Mikey would always deny that he owns property and will definitely say that it is the property of his wife, Angela Montenegro. Angela, Mikey's second cousin, is listed as the owner of the sprawling 5 bedroom, 3-bathroom, two story house that sits on a 600 square meter property facing the beach. Mikey reportedly transfered ownership under an "inter-family" agreement. Oh, by the way, Angela serves as treasurer of the KAMPI.

The question really is---where did Mikey got the money to buy these premium properties? Did he get it when he became an action star? Was he fetching 1 million pesos per flick? If that's so, then, Mikey needs 100 films to get at least 100 million. That would have made him an FPJ.

Sabi nga nila, when it rains, it pours. Sarap talagang maging anak ng presidente!

My dear Gloria letter

Dear Madame Gloria,

Hello. Tagal na din akong hindi sumusulat sa iyo. Dahil sa tagal, hindi ko na nga alam kung anong sasabihin ko sa daming problemang ginawa mo sa bansa ko. At alam kong dapat maikli lang ito dahil tiyak kong nag-aayos ka na naman ng mga bagahe mo dahil sa London at Saudi Arabia na trip mo.

Sana naman natuto ka na na dapat magtipid pag me byahe ka abroad. Maging sensitibo ka naman, kami nga dito, wala nang makain tapos magpipiyesta kayo sa abroad, gamit pa ang pera namin. Sana naman pagtungtong mo sa London, huwag mo nang gamiting pang shopping at pangkain sa restaurant yung pera namin. Mahiya ka naman kahit pano. Hindi mo naman pinaghirapan yan. Alam kong maraming designer and branded shops dyan. Wag mo sanang lustayin sa pagbili ng Mango o Ferregamo ang bawat pisong dala mo. Wala ka na ngang binabalik kahit singkong duling sa gobyerno, gagastahin mo pa perang hindi sa iyo.

Kumpiyansa ako pag tumuntong ka na sa Saudi okey yun dahil dun walang Le Cirque, o Bobby Van's steakhouse or Bouley's. Lalo na ngayon, Ramadhan. Ewan ko nga kung pakakainin kayo dun. At pagbalik mo rito, sana alalahanin mong sa kakarimpot na panahong nandyan ka sa palasyo, makaisip ka na ng kaunting pagbabago sa istayl mo. Huwag mo nang itusan yang mga galamay mo na dayain ang eleksyon. Tama na yung nandaya ka noong 2004. 2009 naman ngayon, baka pag ginawa mo pa the second time, mag-alsa na talaga kaming mga tao.

Tama na rin siguro yang pangarap mong maging number 1 most powerful woman in the world. Okey na rin sana sa iyo na ranked 44 ka na lang. Kahit naman ikaw ang pinaka powerful, hindi mo naman magagamit yan pag humarap ka na kay Satanas dun sa impiyerno.

Sabi nga ni Jesus, the most powerful among you should also be the first servant. Sana maisip mong may responsibilidad ang bawat taong inatangan ng kapangyarihan. At hindi dapat gamitin yan para sa pansariling interes. Baka wala na talagang taong pupunta sa lamay mo at magpaparty na lang lahat kami sa burol mo.

Okey, yun lang. Sana naman natuto ka na. Dahil kung hindi, pasensiyahan na lang tayo. Hindi mo naman kami mababayaran tulad ng ginawa mo nuon sa mga kasamahan namin.

PGMA paid 3 million pesos to 3 leaders to sign Y.O.U. death bill?

Yesterday, I got a chance to talk with a retired Marine major. He's now working for a Makati-based company. He went out of the service because he was disillusioned with the leaders of the reform movement.


I asked why? What was wrong?


The major said he's disappointed with the recent claim of leadership in the Young Officer's Union (YOU) by General Danny Lim.



" Carlos is right. Danny Lim is not the founding chair of the YOU. There's another who I will not name now."

The ex-major says it is totally uncalled for for Brig. General Danny Lim to call himself the founding chair of an organization, which in 2002, he reportedly declared as "dead."

"It was sometime in January 2002 that General Lim, Ariel Querubin and Abe Purungganan declared the Y.O.U. dead without even consulting other members of our organization. The YOU is not dead. It is still alive."

The marine major was privy to the negotiations between Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and three alleged YOU leaders namely Abraham Purungganan, Danny Lim and Ariel Querubin. The three, says the young major, agreed to "kill" the Y.O.U. in a so-called Statement called "Manifesto of Support".

The statement, which was published as a full-page ad in January 2002, was signed by 71 officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). That manifesto, says the major, was a fake.

" I talked with the officers who allegedly signed the manifesto and they denied it. I later learned that the three---Abe Purungganic 'The Messianic", Danny Lim and Ariel Querubin just lifted their signatures and pasted it in the statement."

What's worst, says the major, Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo reportedly gave 3 million pesos to the three officers. The sum, reveals the major, is for the three to sign the "death bill" against the Y.O.U.

" That's the problem with Mrs. Arroyo. Sinusupalpal niya ng pera ang mga kumakalaban sa kanyang administrasyon. Ang hindi ko maintindihan, bakit naman tinanggap nina ser ang pera?" I was not able to answer back because I really don't know if they really did receive the money.

Later after the publication of the Manifesto of Support, Mrs. Arroyo promoted Lim to Brigadier-general. In 2006, Lim, together with some officers of the AFP, withdrew their support from Arroyo. He's since been incarcerated for alleged mutiny charges.

The major believes that Lim etal is not really true revolutionaries.

" If it is true that they're revolutionaries, why go to the trapo route? Kung ako sa kanila, I'll continue the fight against the Arroyo regime. September Mourn: A Threat to Philippine Democracy

For fear of possible reprisals since this site already exposed the nefarious Oplan August Moon before, there is an on-going plan by this administration to compromise democracy and endanger the Republic. This plan already started and will culminate in what I call "September Mourn."

A document has leaked out and is now in the hands of people who truly love democracy. This document, which will be out very soon in another site, details this administration's plan to implement a palace coup to derail the 2010 elections.

The plan allegedly involves an escalation of fighting between government troops and rebels in Mindanao, the possible arrest of Leftist personalities and the implementation of emergency rule under the pretext of anti-terrorism.

A high-ranking member of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) is said to lead this military action and is reportedly working behind the scenes to implement the plan. Some sources, including those in the media, identified this person as General Prestoza, although this site is still confirming this information.

PNP chief Jesus Versoza will reportedly be replaced, according to this document, by former NCRPO Geary Barias. Barias is said to be very close to the First Gentleman Mike Arroyo. Barias is said to have been tasked to enforce a full militarization of Metro Manila by September. Barias is not a member of PMA Class 1978 but is said to have very strong links with the First Family.

At this point, the anti-coup task force of the palace which is the NCRPO command is under alert for possible counter-maneuvers by opposing forces who want to restore and keep democracy alive in this country.

This plan is reportedly not in accordance with the agreed points between Mrs. Arroyo and US President Barack Obama. Obama has been very specific and blunt with Mrs. Arroyo on the issue of term extensions. However, sources say, Mrs. Arroyo feels threatened by the threat of imprisonment by her political opponents. That justifies the palace coup. A statement has already been prepared to explain the implementation of this plan and will be coursed through Philippine Ambassador to Washington Willy Gaa, as what the document says.

This internal document was leaked by a sympathetic staffer of the palace, according to those who now has this document under possession. More information will be published soon.

Mourn the death of Filipino Artistry

The palace denied that dagdag-bawas happened during the pronouncement of those granted the honorific title " National Artist".

Malacanang says it is within the purview of the law that Mrs. Arroyo exercises her executive prerogative since the role of the National Commission on the Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is simply recommendatory.

Inay, mas nakakatakot ito!

It just shows how shallow and low Mrs. Arroyo's taste for the arts. This means that Mrs. Arroyo just lost the ability to discern what is beautiful and what is evil. She just lost the moral and even the aesthetic leadership that we, Filipinos, expect from our leader.

Well, really, I'm not surprised. When Mrs. Arroyo crossed to the dark side in 2004, when she led her evil minions to deprieve us of our voices in that 2004 Hello Garci scandal, she lost all sense of decency and delicadeza. And really, this is not totally surprising nor appalling. When you live in darkness, definitely, you just can't really see the light of beauty. When you go to bed with the Beast, you become one yourself.

The Death of Delicadeza and Dagdag-Bawas at the Philippine Cultural scene

Hindi lamang sa eleksyon nagpakita ang demonyong dagdag-bawas. Pati na ang larangan ng sining, ang dapat sanang nalalabing may linis sa ating lipunan, ay nabahiran na rin ng duming dulot ng dagdag-bawas.

Kaya naman, Filipino artists will conduct a necrological service today at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). Dr. Butch Dalisay and Emily Cabrera will lead hundreds of artists in expressing their sadness over the death of delicadeza in our country today.

If you remember, a few days back, Gloria approved a list of people to be awarded the National Artist awards. The government body responsible for recommending the lists of awardees, NCCA or the National Commission on the Culture and the Arts, gave the President their own lists. Apparently, what Mrs. Arroyo did was prune the list by dropping one name and inserting four additional names who were never even considered by the arts body.

And you know what? Mrs. Arroyo just expressed her preference for man snakes and massacre movies by granting Director Carlo J. Caparas the National artist awards. She even included NCCA executive director Cecille Guidote-Alvarez as a national artist---a direct violation of the law. Good that she included Pito Moreno and architect Bobby Manoza, but their names were not included in the original list submitted by the NCCA.

And because Mrs. Arroyo gave honor to Caparas, one visual artist lost his, which infuriated the Philippine cultural scene. What these artists militate is the fact that Mrs. Arroyo violated the due process of selection involved in this.

Fakery--what singular act of statemanship?

My good friend and colleague Ding Gagelonia lauded Mrs. Gloria Arroyo for visiting Mrs. Aquino’s wake at the Manila Cathedral. He wrote that it was a singular act of statemanship?

What statemanship?

Is it being a stateman to visit Cory on her final day? Malacanang spinmeisters wanted us to believe that Mrs. Arroyo cut short her US trip just to see Cory. Crap. They never cut her trip short. In truth and in fact, Mrs. Arroyo was really slated to arrive today.

What statemanship?

When Mrs. Arroyo did that televised announcement directing the entire Nation to observe a ten day mourning period for Mrs. Aquino, that was not a sincere gesture. Mrs. Arroyo wanted to put a period to our feelings, by saying that we remember Cory only for that brief moment.

What statesmanship?

Everybody saw how Mrs. Arroyo acted like she really felt sad when Cory died, when, in truth and in fact, they partied like crazy in Washington, the very same day Tita Cory left us. Those precious few minutes prior to the taping of that televised announcement of Mrs. Arroyo that showed her laughing and smiling like a dog, was that statesmanship? Thanks to technology, we unmask pretenders like Arroyo.

What statemanship?

When Mrs. Arroyo ordered the withdrawal of Mrs. Aquino’s personal security, that was no statemanship? It was actually a statement coming from an evil one, that, evil do thrive in our midst.

And what statemanship?

When Mrs. Arroyo continues her plunder and when her men continue their plunder. When Arroyo continues to defy the JBC. And when Mrs. Arroyo continues to rule unjustly, that, in itself, and by itself, show that Mrs. Arroyo rebukes Mrs. Aquino every single day she stays in that office. There is no better way to say it that Mrs. Arroyo’s very existence is an anti-thesis of what Cory stood for, lived for and even died for.

The true and singular act of statesmanship that everyone expects from Mrs. Arroyo is very simple—stop promoting evil and immorality in this country. Resign and admit your sins.

That word statesmanship means absolutely nothing without the word “honesty” attached to it. Admit it—Mrs. Arroyo decided to visit Arroyo not because she wanted to but because she needed to. That’s the difference. And let us not be fooled.

Finally, what Mrs. Arroyo's act really meant to us was simply, it gave us a moment of retrospection, somewhat of an epiphany. It made us reflect how different Mrs. Arroyo is. That if Cory was honest, Mrs. Arroyo was dishonest. When Cory meant what she said and do things based on her honest and personal views about things, Mrs. Arroyo does things according to what her politics dictates her to.

That phony sad face of Mrs. Arroyo tells us all the more that we need to strive for rectification of History. That shows us the extreme necessity of ousting the very reason why we're so miserable.

Remember Cory the Cory Way: Ang Laban ni Cory

We grieve because today will be the last time that we will see Cory. We grieve because deep in our hearts, we real­ized that we just lost a great soul.

Yes, some of us prob­a­bly do not agree with her pol­i­tics. Some would even say that her admin­is­tra­tion was a fail­ure. Yet, we all agree that, in that moment in our His­tory, we were led by some­one who exem­pli­fied what the Fil­ipino really stands for.

We stand for full wor­ship and faith with God. Cory was every­thing Fil­ipino. Some of us would say, Cory has this near fatal­is­tic atti­tude, sim­i­lar to many of us. Yet, every­one agrees that, Cory was never a fatal­ist. Her strong faith in God was what made her utter words that every­one, espe­cially those who face tough­est chal­lenges, nor­mally invoke, ” Bahala na”.

We are nat­ural Samar­i­tans. Inher­ent within us is that genetic char­ac­ter of help­ing oth­ers in need. Cory was the First among us to do the right things.

We are an hon­est and hon­or­able peo­ple. And we always do the right things.

Today, we bid farewell to the one per­son that, through her life, taught us how to really live. We say our good­byes to a per­son who, through her own life, directed us to do good things and with excel­lence. We say our final greet­ings to a per­son who taught us that being Fil­ipino is never shame­ful and what we must be ashamed of is if we for­get our “Filipino-ness” and allowed evil to reign.

We, who are left here, must do the right thing---act with dispatch and correct the wrongs of History. It is our fate as a united Nation to fight those who continues to promote evil like this regime.

Today, I write the learn­ings I believe God wanted us to know from Cory’s exam­ple. Remem­ber her by being like her. In our own sim­ple ways, do things, the Cory Way.

Kartilya ni Tita Cory (The Cory Way)

1. Mahalin natin ang Dios ng higit sa ating sar­ili. (Love God above oneself)

2. Tulun­gan natin ang ating kapwa-tao bilang pagsamba sa Dios. ( Wor­ship God by help­ing others.)

3. Mag­bi­gay galang sa ating mga mag­u­lang at sa mga nakatatanda sa atin. (Respect one’s par­ents and those who are ahead of us in age.)

A New EDSA Revolution is Upon Us; Gloria Panics and sends anti-coup force

Like what happened in 1986, Filipinos are pouring by the thousands at EDSA and the La Salle Greenhills compound. Soldiers, cops, businessmen, civil society, urban poor, students and youngsters are gathering as we speak along EDSA Shrine and Ortigas Avenue to re-create the phenomenon which President Cory Aquino led some two decades ago. This is a fitting tribute to the lady who sacrificed her entire life for the sake of democracy in the Philippines.

A day after her death, Mrs. Cory Aquino continues to inspire countless Filipinos to fight for what is Right and condemn the wrongs. People have now awakened to the reality that this regime of Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has been oppressing Filipinos for more than eight years now and it is time for everybody to be like Cory and stand up for what is Right and oust the usurper from her evil power.

A New EDSA revolt is upon us. Even in her passing, Mrs. Aquino moral and spiritual leadership remains palpable. Millions have now awakened from their stupor and ready to again, take history by the hair and create a a truly just and humane society. People wearing yellow shirts have vowed to continue the cause and the struggle of Mrs. Aquino.

The mission which Mrs. Aquino failed to finish when she was still alive, will now be realized by Filipinos who love and respect her ideals. Now is the time to launch a New Philippine Revolution! Onward!

Travesty at the Williard Hotel

What on earth is this administration really up to? And what kind of government is this, partying like crazy in a ritzy hotel, while we mourn the passing of one of our nation's greats?

It's confirmed that Mrs. Arroyo, our pseudo Philippine president, knew about the demise of president Cory Aquino before she met US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton last August 1.

When Clinton met Arroyo at the Williard Hotel, Mrs. Arroyo deliberately did not tell Clinton about Aquino's death. Clinton only knew about Aquino's death through an ABS-CBN reporter.

It is elementary courtesy for a Head of State to communicate a monumental news like that to a foreign dignitary, to avoid such an embarrassing thing like what happened yesterday. But, Mrs. Arroyo and her ilk remain callous. They always cause so much embarrassment for the Filipino People.

It was Heherson Alvarez, the presidential hangers-on, who actually informed Mrs. Arroyo about the unfortunate news. Yet, instead of remembering the former president, Mrs. Arroyo and her entourage continued partying and celebrating after that Obama meeting.

The color of the SONA

Mrs. Arroyo wore a fushcia colored dress, described a radio reporter who covered the State of the Nation address (SONA) yesterday. There were instances where Mrs. Arroyo wore shades of red or a simple fiery red dress--when she gave that SONA that condemned rebel soldiers who trooped to a posh hotel just to make a statement.

Now, many people, especially those who criticize her, see this as an expression of her fighting stance. Yes, many would definitely give some "color" into this. Though Mrs. Arroyo's color selection is simply out of touch and definitely NOT the fashion color of this year (yellow is 'IN'), observers believe this highlights her main message---fight for the Filipino People.

Arroyo believes that she's fighting a good fight---improving the economy, giving houses to the poor and enhancing the investor environment. For some though, she failed, and failed miserably.

She's fighting to stay in power, some say. Her speech yesterday was not what we expect her to say--that she'll step down from that perch come June 2010. But, we're not that naive. Her greedy husband and son just told us the truth---she intends to leave Malacanang and we must believe them. Why?

They know the implications of such a thing. If they renege on this, they know that they'll be courting disaster. It's really their fault. Arroyo made a mistake when she announced her political plans on Rizal day in Baguio. And they love giving double-talks. If Arroyo lied, then, let her be. She knows her accountabilities.

This is something which I observed. Instead of relaying the right message, Mrs. Arroyo actually showed her tendency to be really out of touch of reality. That summarizes her entire administration.

For example, she gave us a glowing rundown of economic policies, which, are really excellent. Yet, what she probably failed to say is there is still a growing segment of our population that did not see or even felt this. GDP and GNP are two indicators of economic progress. Yet, for those in the lowest rungs of society, these terms mean nothing.

She talked about the vastly improving ICT sector but what she failed to say is, those who belonged to the 600,000 or so people who got jobs from this sector, all belonged to the educated (at least) segment of the society. Of course, there is some spillover effects, like in the construction business. And indirectly, some segments of the poorest classes benefited by working as masons and construction workers. Yet, as I said, this is still a work in progress.

Now, if we ask then, should we then conclude that she failed in her performance as president? Not entirely. She was able to weather all these storms that came in her way---political and economic instabilities. It takes a strong willed leader to survive all that. And for that, let's give her credit.

It takes a very strong political will to be able to realize the dreams of 1.8 million Filipino families to own their own house and lots. It takes a strong political desire to keep the economy afloat despite the strong surges of the global financial tsunami. Strong leadership is also needed in a patron-client kind of political system, where people's loyalties are based on "what is in store for me?" instead of "what do you offer as a vision so that my performance as a public servant is enhanced?" And surely, it takes more than patience to deal with rapacious business suit-wearing ass-lickers and opportunists who lurk in the shadows inside the palace.

What is important is, Mrs. Arroyo's administration just proved one glaring fact---we need a change in the system. Honestly, our choices to succeed her lack one or two very important leadership qualities. Of course, these people have their own management styles and concepts of governance. But, these are, at best, unproven. They are all abstractions.

In a culture such as ours, weak leadership means one thing---an unstable and weak government, susceptible to attacks against all political forces, be it beneficent or malevolent. In a state of transition, weaker political players wait in the wings for the opportunity to strike. To her credit, Mrs. Arroyo successfully handled the government despite charges of corruption, power monopoly, and interventionist actions by her husband.

Mrs. Arroyo's actions are good studies in state dynamics and public administration. It is a classic case of balancing power.
