September Mourn: A Threat to Philippine Democracy

For fear of possible reprisals since this site already exposed the nefarious Oplan August Moon before, there is an on-going plan by this administration to compromise democracy and endanger the Republic. This plan already started and will culminate in what I call "September Mourn."

A document has leaked out and is now in the hands of people who truly love democracy. This document, which will be out very soon in another site, details this administration's plan to implement a palace coup to derail the 2010 elections.

The plan allegedly involves an escalation of fighting between government troops and rebels in Mindanao, the possible arrest of Leftist personalities and the implementation of emergency rule under the pretext of anti-terrorism.

A high-ranking member of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) is said to lead this military action and is reportedly working behind the scenes to implement the plan. Some sources, including those in the media, identified this person as General Prestoza, although this site is still confirming this information.

PNP chief Jesus Versoza will reportedly be replaced, according to this document, by former NCRPO Geary Barias. Barias is said to be very close to the First Gentleman Mike Arroyo. Barias is said to have been tasked to enforce a full militarization of Metro Manila by September. Barias is not a member of PMA Class 1978 but is said to have very strong links with the First Family.

At this point, the anti-coup task force of the palace which is the NCRPO command is under alert for possible counter-maneuvers by opposing forces who want to restore and keep democracy alive in this country.

This plan is reportedly not in accordance with the agreed points between Mrs. Arroyo and US President Barack Obama. Obama has been very specific and blunt with Mrs. Arroyo on the issue of term extensions. However, sources say, Mrs. Arroyo feels threatened by the threat of imprisonment by her political opponents. That justifies the palace coup. A statement has already been prepared to explain the implementation of this plan and will be coursed through Philippine Ambassador to Washington Willy Gaa, as what the document says.

This internal document was leaked by a sympathetic staffer of the palace, according to those who now has this document under possession. More information will be published soon.

Charter Change And Martial Rule

Is it possible under the present circumstances, for Mrs. Gloria Arroyo to mix charter change with martial rule, as alleged by former ally Jose de Venecia Jr.?

Speaking before members of the diplomatic community at the Manila Polo Club, De Venecia gave diplomats a veritable security and political briefing on what's really happening. He confirmed earlier entries in NPR about the plan of Arroyo to call for a State of Emergency should Speaker Prospero Nograles Jr. fails to sustain enough support to convene Congress into a Constituent Assembly.

As what I wrote here several weeks ago, August 6 is the date where all of these things would come to a head, or a week after Mrs. Arroyo's SONA. If Congress convene itself as an assembly, then, several scenarios are likely to happen:

1. Bombings in Mindanao would increase, with the administration again pointing to extremist groups as the ones responsible for the attacks. These bombings are diversionary tactics, meant to delude the public and ensure that another option remains available should public outrage comes to a decisive and explosive level.

2. Increased military and police checkpoints which they plan to set up a few days or the week of the SONA. This will be extended after the SONA, as they expect opposition to mount huge rallies shortly after the convening of Congress into a Constituent Assembly.

Now, what if Congress fails to convene itself into a Constituent Assembly?

1. Either a self-coup or a declaration of martial rule. A self-coup is more likely since failure to convene will surely diminish rallies against the administration. This coup would be mounted by several so-called reformists who will occupy several key government installations. They will then announce order and institute a revolutionary government with Arroyo as the head.
Arroyo will scrap the Constitution, convene a small group of constitutional experts and start the constitutional review. Shortly after that, they plan to institute preparations for parliamentary elections.

Ermita warns of martial law--sinong takot?

The cat is now out of the bag.

Executive secretary Eduardo Ermita, the alter-ego of Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, warns of martial rule against those who'll cause "chaos" in opposition of House Resolution 1109. Ermita said that Mrs. Arroyo has the power to declare it once public uproar increases against attempts at transforming the Lower House into a constituent Assembly.

Now, there, Mr. Ermita. Your true malevolent spirit is showing.

I have no doubt that this is the true plan of Malacanang---to use the expected public outrage against charter change as a ruse to formalize the dictatorial nature of this administration. This administration is actually preparing for martial rule, as what this site wrote a few weeks ago.

Ermita and this administration wants martial rule as a social tranquilizer against charter change.

Now, then, will it be a good idea for anti charter change exponents to tone things down and slow its anti charter change train?

They should not slow things down. In fact, all the more should people continue their vigilance against these dastardly plan of Malacanang.

Who's afraid of Martial law? Who's afraid of dictatorships?

I'm not.

I echo what former Senate President Frank Drilon said that this administration should not underestimate the Filipino People. " I warn the Arroyo administration not to underestimate the people's anger. The majority of the Filipino people may be silent but Malacanang should not mistake this for complacency and submissiveness."
