The New Pinoy Soldier

There is no doubt about it---the Filipino soldier is a professional one. Despite the numerous scandals within the military establishment, and these are very serious ones linked to fund misuse and lack of uniforms and resources, the soldier remains loyal to the Constitution and the Filipino People.

The question that always come to mind is this--will the Filipino soldier still remain loyal to the chain of command despite very clear signs that the very authority that he is expected to follow is the very same one sabotaging the very democracy he is supposed to protect?

The loyalty of the Filipino soldier rest on the true power of this Nation--the Filipino People. This rings loud and clear in the Constitution, the truest expression of the People's Will. When civilian authority bamboozle this revered document, mock it and destroy it just to suit personal whims and political caprices, will the soldier be a gentleman and fight those who mock, destroy and despise the very Constitution that he has sworn to protect?

Yes. The Pinoy soldier is bound by his obedience to institutions, not personages. He is duty-bound to protect the institutions of democracy, not those who run it.

The Pinoy soldier is responsible for the protection of the pillars of democracy by which everything stands firm. The Pinoy soldier is a creature of democracy, the very reason he exists is simply to protect the institutions of governance from being destroyed by those elected or appointed as custodians of public service.

When civilian elites fight among themselves, the Pinoy soldier is expected to stay by the Constitution and the institutions it has created. When the very same Constitution is being slowly corrupted by those responsible for its custody, the Pinoy soldier is responsible for keeping the peace.

When democracy is threatened by the intense in-fighting between and among civilian elites, the Pinoy soldier is expected to preserve democracy by governing the institutions by which democracy stands firm.

Power Crisis in the Philippines

Our country is encountering a power crisis, not just because our dams are starting to dry up, but the elites and the counter-elites of this tiny Republic are maneuvering for power. Again, a struggle for dominance is in the offing, participated by Big Business, military and political elites.

And the group who will be more trusting than the other will lose this power struggle.

The simmering heat brought by this struggle is confined in the halls of the palace and in some hotel room somewhere in Manila and in Hongkong. And like what happens to things either artificially or naturally heated, it will cause boils and will eventually burst at the seams.

Philippine president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has promised before magistrates and foreign governments that she will keep her word and allow this elections to push thru. And she did. Arroyo signed the papers allowing the automation of this elections and Smartmatic-TIM already delivered their end of the bargain. More than 80,000 optimal reading machines were delivered, albeit, late for a few weeks. Nonetheless, they delivered.

Arroyo herself went to the poll body and filed her COC, another indication that she meant well. Arroyo ordered the military and the police to go after armed groups and even asked the DOJ to file murder charges against her foremost supporter in Mindanao. For the past few weeks, Arroyo did everything in her power to compromise, even at the point of weakening her hold on to political power.

What her detractors worry, and this is not a simple matter, is Mrs. Arroyo continues to show contempt against calls for her not to appoint a new AFP chief and a New Supreme Court justice. Groups did their jobs, using the media to communicate their opposition to Arroyo and even went as far as daring her to exercise delicadeza.

As what Singaporeans say, no can do.

Mrs. Arroyo appointed Lt. General Delfin Bangit as head of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Bangit, as we all know, is a very close associate of Mrs. Arroyo. He served Arroyo well as the country's head of the PSG and the intelligence service of the military. His phenomenal rise to power is a classic case in the military promotional system.

Bangit's promotion affected Generals Rodolfo Maclang and Vice admiral Virgilio Marayag's, as well as Lt. Gen. Ben Dolorfino, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) commander, Navy Chief Vice Admiral Ferdinand Golez and Vice Admiral Leonardo Calderon, PMA Superintendent, are members of PMA class 76, two years Bangit’s senior.

Aside from PMA Class 76, Bangit also bypassed a number of senior officers belonging to PMA Class 77.

It is expected that Mrs. Arroyo will also turn down calls for her not to appoint the replacement of Chief Justice Reynato Puno. Seemed that Mrs. Arroyo will appoint Justice Corona, her former Chief of Staff when she was still vice president, to the top SC post.

Really, its expected for someone like Mrs. Arroyo to secure both posts due to their sensitivity.

If you control the law and the armed forces, you practically control the entire State. Which, to my mind, is something very natural for a President to do.

What is so disturbing and so unnatural to all of these is simply the timing. The President will be leaving her post of 9 years in May 2010. There is this thing called "integrity" of the elections.

Bangit is a highly decorated and professional officer and he deserves it. Same goes to other members of PMA class 1978.

Yet, many believe that their quick ascension to power was actually brought by political patronage rather than professional accomplishments.

How will this administration confidently say before the public that they are pushing for clean elections when the very enforcer of the law once was accused of complicity in electoral fraud? You really don't appoint someone with a highly doubtful character to hold a very sensitive post at this transitional juncture in the nation's history. Everybody knows that the success or failure of this electoral exercise will either make or break the entire Republic. Everyone knows how the public feels about this elections, that more than 76% of the People will militate against their government if this elections fail especially in the credibility department.

It would have been better if Mrs. Arroyo extended Ibrado's and Puno's terms and just allow the next president to appoint people who enjoy his confidence.

Will Ibrado render the same loyalty to the next president? And will Corona be as impartial as his predecessor when it comes to graft cases filed against the Arroyos shortly after this administration?

Can it be that this administration knows that this elections will fail and it wants to maintain a hold of power in the event of an uprising due to a tainted and dishonest polls?

Or, as some say, this maneuverings were meant to assure the poll victory of the administration bet who remains to be very loyal to the sitting one?

It seemed that this administration is preparing for a hold-over capacity, given the very high probability of a non-proclamation of winners in the national posts.

A very high government official told a group of importers and businessmen that the prospect of a "no-proc" remains since these machines are vulnerable either to software red hat attacks or physical sabotage.

In a "no-proc" scenario, it may very well lead to a " power vacuum", which, as Enrile says, can only be resolved by the intervention of military elites. A military elite who favors a hold over of power by the Arroyo administration is the end of all these which will definitely be opposed by counter-elites and the People. Obviously, this counters what the US wants in the Philippines, since it is clearly the policy of the Obama administration to ensure a clean, honest and non-violent elections.

August Moon is On! Bangit appointed New AFP Chief of Staff

DESPITE PUBLIC OUTRAGE AND DISGUSTS, MRS. GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO WILL LEAD THE CEREMONIES FOR THE TURN-OVER OF DUTIES OF ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES CHIEF OF STAFF GENERAL VICTOR IBRADO TO THE NEWLY APPOINTED CHIEF OF STAFF LT. GENERAL DELFIN BANGIT.

Bangit, member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) class 1978, is a former Presidential Security Group head of Mrs. Gloria Arroyo.

LIKE WHAT THIS BLOG WROTE A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, MRS. ARROYO AND HER HAWKS PLAN TO INSTALL LT. GENERAL DELFIN BANGIT AS THE AFP CHIEF OF STAFF AHEAD OF THE MAY 10, 2010 ELECTIONS.

THIS PLAN, CODENAMED "AUGUST MOON" STARTED LATE LAST YEAR WITH THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF PMA CLASS 1978 TO SENSITIVE AFP AND PNP POSTS. THE GOVERNMENT DENIED THAT THEY EVER HAD SUCH A PLAN BUT THIS WAS REVEALED TO THIS WRITER BY SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHOM DEFENSE SECRETARY NORBERTO GONZALES MET A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO.

IF YOU REMEMBER, GENERAL BANGIT WAS INVOLVED IN THE HELLO GARCI SCANDAL.

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY THAT A GOVERNMENT APPOINTED THOSE WITH GRAFT CASES IN VERY SENSITIVE POSTS.

DOTC SECRETARY AND ZTE-NBN DEAL CONTRACT PROPONENT LEANDRO MENDOZA WAS APPOINTED EXECUTIVE SECRETARY.

AND NOW, ONE OF THOSE WHO ORCHESTRATED THE HELLO GARCI SCANDAL IS NOW THE HEAD OF THE COUNTRY'S ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES.

IS THIS THE WAY WE REWARD THOSE WHO COMMIT GRAFT AND CORRUPTION?

SHAME ON US. SHAME ON THEM.

Senator Santiago validated Oplan Alpha--the move to declare the entire Philippines under Martial Law

Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago just validated Oplan Alpha, the plot of this administration to extend its rule beyond 2010 thru an extended martial law. The Inquirer headline today " Bolder martial law seen" was first exposed here and I am not ashamed of exposing the plot more to you my dear readers so that we can pre-empt this plan, like what we did in Oplan August Moon.

However, it might be too late for us.

Talks are swirling that an attempt against the seat of Power is slated to occur by the 16th or 17th of this month. If this will not occur, then a group of Generals are reportedly meeting to take full control of the government after Christmas.

The plot reportedly involves hawks within the palace who first suggested the establishment of a transitory government prior to the 2010 elections. This "cabal" as what Santiago described them, is tinkering of extending the scope of Martial law first in the entire ARMM (that explains why people are also asking that the Lanao provinces and the Sulu-Basilan-Tawi-tawi be put under Martial law).

Now, there is a twist behind this plot---the objective of securing ALL of Mindanao to prevent lawless elements, and that includes terrorists, who might be planning of sabotaging the biggest energy project in the Sulu sea. This is actually the second reason why security advisers of Mrs. Arroyo are fully behind martial law.

The move is reminiscent of the God Save The Queen.

Now, what is troubling is this---this cabal will surely be surprised because there is now a massing of support to create stiff opposition against them. The New Patriots of the New Generation will stand up and oppose them, whatever it takes, just to secure the True Will of the People which is OUST GLORIA.

Oplan Alpha

Oplan Alpha, an alleged plot to declare martial law in the Philippines, was planned a week after Defense secretary Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro agreed to become Lakas-KAMPI CMD presidential bet. The plot involves heightening tensions in Mindanao leading to a situation where it is untenable for the government not to declare martial law in the region.

Oplan Alpha, a source says, also aims to suspend the conduct of the elections in May 10, 2010 and extend the term of the President for two years.

The Oplan Alpha calls for the heightening also of tensions in the capital, which the government will link with the situation in Mindanao. A "self-coup", code name " Restoration", will be staged and will be blamed against named enemies of the state. This "Restoration" plan will be the last action leading to a December declaration of martial law.

If this is not possible, planners of Oplan Alpha will try to do it by the second week of January 2010.

Aims of Oplan Alpha:

1. Arrest and detention of enemies of the State, namely, Leftists and some elements of Samahang Magdalo.

2. Take-over of installations of government and private companies.

3. Communication of intentions before foreign dignitaries to shore up international support.

4. Forty eight hours stoppage of all communication and control of sensitive private communications facilities.

5. Putting under house arrest sympathetic and "counter-revolutionary" members of the AFP and PNP.

METRO MANILA PLACED ON BLUE ALERT--Oplan August Moon on?

DESPITE THE ABSENCE OF ANY INTELLIGENCE REPORT RELATING TO A POSSIBLE OUTBREAK OF VIOLENCE, Mayor General Reynaldo Mapagu, chief of the AFP National Capital Region (NCR) Command placed the entire Metro Manila under BLUE ALERT.

Mapagu, A MEMBER OF PMA CLASS 1978, said that he has activated all his units and has coordinated with his mistah, PNP Director Roberto Rosales, head of the PNP National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to closely monitor movements on the ground.

"Blue alert", the second highest alert, is only hoisted when an attack is deemed "imminent."

Mapagu said he raised the alert level in anticipation of retaliatory attacks from supporters of beleaguered Maguindanao governor Andal Ampatuan. Today, thousands of troops surrounded the compound of the governor, possibly as a foil against those who would try to protect the governor from arrest. The governor is being blamed for the massacre which killed 62 people in one of history's worst election-related violence.

This "blue alert" is VERY SUSPICIOUS since Mapagu himself ADMITS that there is NO report even indicating that the capital is under serious attack or reports which show that groups are threatening or even planning to stage attacks.

Suspicious also since the AFP NCRCommand is the ANTI-COUP FORCE of the Arroyo administration.

Is Mapagu over-reacting or he's playing his part of the Game of the Generals?

September Mourn: A Threat to Philippine Democracy

For fear of possible reprisals since this site already exposed the nefarious Oplan August Moon before, there is an on-going plan by this administration to compromise democracy and endanger the Republic. This plan already started and will culminate in what I call "September Mourn."

A document has leaked out and is now in the hands of people who truly love democracy. This document, which will be out very soon in another site, details this administration's plan to implement a palace coup to derail the 2010 elections.

The plan allegedly involves an escalation of fighting between government troops and rebels in Mindanao, the possible arrest of Leftist personalities and the implementation of emergency rule under the pretext of anti-terrorism.

A high-ranking member of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) is said to lead this military action and is reportedly working behind the scenes to implement the plan. Some sources, including those in the media, identified this person as General Prestoza, although this site is still confirming this information.

PNP chief Jesus Versoza will reportedly be replaced, according to this document, by former NCRPO Geary Barias. Barias is said to be very close to the First Gentleman Mike Arroyo. Barias is said to have been tasked to enforce a full militarization of Metro Manila by September. Barias is not a member of PMA Class 1978 but is said to have very strong links with the First Family.

At this point, the anti-coup task force of the palace which is the NCRPO command is under alert for possible counter-maneuvers by opposing forces who want to restore and keep democracy alive in this country.

This plan is reportedly not in accordance with the agreed points between Mrs. Arroyo and US President Barack Obama. Obama has been very specific and blunt with Mrs. Arroyo on the issue of term extensions. However, sources say, Mrs. Arroyo feels threatened by the threat of imprisonment by her political opponents. That justifies the palace coup. A statement has already been prepared to explain the implementation of this plan and will be coursed through Philippine Ambassador to Washington Willy Gaa, as what the document says.

This internal document was leaked by a sympathetic staffer of the palace, according to those who now has this document under possession. More information will be published soon.

Time to write good stories

My friends, starting today, I'll start writing good stories about the Philippines. Yes, all good stories. I figured, nothing will ever come out of writing exposes anyway.

Since I started as a journalist in 1992, I've been writing investigative pieces that it's time probably, to stop. In 2000, prior to EDSA Dos, I exposed the "coup plans" which eventually happened. They were shown on TV because they were complete reports, with interviews and documents. I don't write entries here based on nothing or unverified documents or interviews that are misleading or patently wrong, no. I adhere to the tenets of journalism. I verify my info through triple sources.

Yes, there's nothing to be gained nor gleaned from investigative reports. It even puts your life in danger or puts you under the radar. One of my friends said this site is being monitored and I'm now included in the "black list". Good. Why?

Because that shows that government is trying to listen. Yeah, they ought to. Why do I write these things in the first place? Well, I have nothing to gain from all of these things. I don't have any political clients. Yes, I do have many politicians as friends, but I don't meet them regularly. I seldom go out of my house, except of course, for meetings with clients, who are NOT political personalities nor have interests in politics. I'm not even paid to write these entries. No.

I just think that for a mischievous or machievellian plan to fizzle out, exposing them at the earliest time is the best thing to do. As a citizen of this Republic, I have the duty to beat the drums, sound the trumpet and tell my fellow Filipinos, that hey, we're being scammed here and you should also raise your voice so that these fellows would stop their schemes.

Also, no one would ever really act to change our situation anyway. Even if I write investigative pieces anyway, no one cares. Yes, no one.

For example, if I write that there's a brewing plot, people would just dismiss that as "agitation propaganda" or "another conspiracy theory" even if evidence and recent events are there for everybody to see and analyze. You don't need to be an expert political scientist to figure things out. You need adequate research skills though and a full grasp of theoretical models to figure how to connect the dots though.

By the way, for those who think that this site was the originator of that term "Oplan August Moon", you're wrong. Though I wrote entries which tell of a plot, I was not the one who named that ridiculous plot, "August Moon." These plots, if ever they really implement it, are usually "un-named" and no one in his right mind would mask it with such as term as "August Moon." Why August moon when the plot reportedly would cultimate in October? Should be October moon, right?

What am I saying? I really think that government would win this time. Yes, the Arroyo regime will win. They have the advantage of terrain, of the weather, of discipline and of numbers. As I wrote in previous posts, what Arroyo wants, Arroyo gets. And nothing can stop her.

As what Bugs Bunny always say, if you can't beat them, join 'em. I have an alternative saying though---if you can't beat them, wait for a while. Evil things always come to a disastrous end.

Teodoro denies plans to institute Martial Law

Defense secretary Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro says that government does not plan to declare martial law for one obvious reason---it is legally unjustified.

First, he says that there's no insurrection or rebellion. And second, public safety, at this point, is simply not compromised, as yet. He also indicated that Malacanang does not plan to even declare a State of Emergency, since, he considers these as counter-productive.

While I'm writing this, a bomb exploded in Jolo, injuring one policeman. This is the 39th time a bomb exploded in Mindanao.

Now, Teodoro said that if these bombing incidents are being perpetuated even by one single member of the government, he'll prosecute them. Teodoro likewise said that he'll disassociate himself with those who want to further confuse and sow terror. For Teodoro, these acts are counter-productive.

The AFP has blamed a certain Baja Usman, an alleged member of the MILF special ops group as the mastermind behind the bombings. The military even connected the regional terror group to the MILF, which the MILF immediately condemned in a statement.

What Teodoro, however, failed to say is what if government, particularly those hawks within Arroyo's inner circle plan a self-coup, similar to previous God Save the Queen plans? Will he stand up and condemn it when it happens? That's obviously the plan of some ideologues within the regime---to launch a coup and institute a "revolutionary government". This is what National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales suggested a few weeks ago. Shortly after Bertgon's statement, bombs subsequently went off in successive fashion in Mindanao and Metro Manila.

Will Teodoro also disassociate himself and condemn this coup if it ever happens?

Important also to note that Teodoro's statement now contradicts the statement made earlier by Executive secretary Eduardo Ermita. Ermita said that Malacanang will not tarry a minute longer in declaring a State of Emergency if violence breaks out in the SONA. Is this indicative that Teodoro no longer enjoys exclusive privilege as a member of Arroyo's inner circle?

Pope Benedict Condemns Cotabato Blast

Five people died while 35 others were wounded in a morning bomb blast in Cotabato City. Cotabato Archbishop Orlando Quevedo was about to read his homily when the bomb exploded. The explosive device was placed in an eatery near the Cotabato Immaculate Concepcion church.
The Southern Command was quick to blame the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), saying that a special operations groups were the ones responsible for the blast. Malacanang also was quick to draw the gun, blaming "destabilizers" for the blast. However, the MILF denied any involvement in the blast, saying that the act was "un-Islamic" and contrary to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. The MILF called for an independent probe into the incident.

Pope Benedict the 16th and the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) were one in condemning the explosion. The Pope said this is not the way to resolve conflicts, while the CBCP hinted that this could be part of an on-going effort to destabilize the country. Remember that a few days ago, a bomb exploded before the Office of the Ombusman while bombs were allegedly found at the Department of Agriculture and a condominium in Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.

The explosion came shortly after an announcement was made that the government and the MILF peace panels are expected to go back to the negotiating table this month. Was this part of a plan to derail peace efforts in Mindanao?

Some people however surmise that this could be part of the so-called Oplan August Moon, a secret campaign to create justifying circumstances for the declaration of martial rule. Prior to this, a bomb exploded at the Office of the Ombusman in Quezon City, while bombs were found at the Department of Agriculture and a condominium along Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.

Oplan August Moon is supposed to lay down the groundwork for more oppressive state actions against the government's detractors, particularly those who oppose the plan of Mrs. Arroyo's allies to convene Congress into a Constituent Assembly. Others, however, said that the Oplan actually targets AFP Chief of Staff General Victor Ibrado. It is no secret that Ibrado's class (PMA Class 1976) is now engaged in a power struggle with Mrs. Arroyo's favorite class (PMA Class 1978). Though Defense secretary Gilbert Teodoro was quick to squelch this, news of inter-class squabblings are getting louder. A source within the AFP says that classmates of Ibrado and PMA Class 1978 member Army Chief Lt. Gen. Delfin Bangit were the ones jockeying for power inside the AFP. The power struggle is reportedly unknown to both officers.

Historically, blasts and bomb threats always precede destab efforts before. With a few weeks left before the SONA, many people fear that more such incidents will happen to create a chilling effect on those who oppose charter change. Yesterday, the military announced that it is preparing for possible unrests and destab threats as the SONA nears. The possibility is high since last June, Executive secretary Eduardo Ermita warned cha-cha protesters that Mrs. Arroyo will not hesitate to use her "emergency powers" in case violence breaks out when Congress convenes itself into a Constituent Assembly after July 27.

Crackdown on cha-cha

National security adviser Norberto Gonzales and ISAFP Chief Gen. Rey Prestoza and even AFP spokesperson, Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner Jr. were all one in saying that the military is not the ones behind the spate of bombings that happened in Metro Manila this week. They all say there's a destabilization plot, allegedly being committed by two groups and funded by an opposition politician. While PNP chief Jesus Versoza denied that there is a destabilization plot on-going.

Which is which? Who to believe? The chief of the PNP saying there's no destab, or these three gentlemen?

To help you, my dear readers and friends judge who to believe, let's go back to the very words Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo told reporters last June 21.

During her working visit in Japan, Mrs. Arroyo said that she's not out to scrap the elections. What she's after, Mrs. Arroyo said, is to reform the political system through constitutional amendments. She categorically stated her desire for charter change through "political and economic reforms". “What I have always said, and it was part of my campaign platform in 2004, is that the political system needs to be reformed,” the President told reporters covering her working visit in Japan.

Mrs. Arroyo said the political and economic reforms she wished to implement would entirely depend on the efforts of her allies and “ultimately on the people of the Philippines.”

Okey, two things---charter change is on and the elections. Its clear that Mrs. Arroyo will push ahead with amending the constitution prior to the elections, so expect the fight against cha-cha to really be messy and protracted, since it just spewed out of Mrs. Arroyo's mouth that she's routing not just for economic reform (as what Speaker Nograles only wants) but "political reforms" as well. Meaning, Mrs. Arroyo is really gunning for a shift to parliamentary, a desperate move, says her detractors, to prolong her stay in power.

So, come July 27, allies of the President will not just change economic provisions of the 1987 Constitution--they will also try to change political provisions--a clear violation of the "gentleman's agreement" made by administration allies in the Lower House.

Okey. So the elections are on. What kind? Partial automation, the palace said. So, what would happen is Comelec will have a joint venture (or whatever that arrangement is) with Smartmatic only to partially automate the elections. But, why is the palace and Comelec insiders preparing for partial instead of full elections?

Because they are anticipating that the elections will fail anyway. Why do I say that?

Note the statement made by Norberto Gonzales regarding a "revolutionary government" setup with Mrs. Arroyo as head. These ideologues and hawks within the palace are deliberately sabotaging the elections to create the necessary scenarios for justifying an action like this.

Why float an idea if these palace men have'nt thought about it and considered it within the confines of Malacanang?

That said, going back to the original question---who to believe? I believe Verzosa when he says that there's no destabilization because he knows very well that its government who's doing those scare tactics and government troops are no destabilizers. Why do it in the first place?

To precipitate a crackdown of anti cha-cha group leaders, to instill fear in them enroute to July 27. Its not martial law that this government intends to achieve ultimately, although its a sweeter, if we are to believe what Executive secretary Eduardo Ermita said previously, but merely to derail the organizing efforts being undertaken by anti charter change agents.

Update on Oplan August Moon

Malacanang and the Civil Relations service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines just denied the purported self-coup called Oplan August Moon. The palace spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo said that there's no such plan. While AFP Spokesman Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. also denied it.

Of course, they'll deny it but in Philippine society, chismis or what we call malicious or loose talk is more often than not, partially true.

Oplan August Moon, as some sources say, intends to shorten the term of AFP Chief of Staff General Victor Ibrado. The plan reportedly involves black ops teams whose mission is to "create a scenario of destabilization". This scenario involves alleged bombings, assasinations and rise of criminal activity within July onto August 6. Malacanang and the AFP will blame the Jemaah Islamiyah for these things.

August 6, as sources say, is the start of the campaign against Ibrado to culminate either in a forceful seizure of power to install a "revolutionary government" headed by Mrs. Arroyo or force a resignation of Ibrado come the first week of October 2009. Malacanang will blame Ibrado for an alleged failure to instill discipline among the ranks. One option, says these sources, is for the self-coup to fail and they'll point to Ibrado as the one who headed it. That will surely force the C-S to resign. When that happens, Lt. General Delfin Bangit will succeed him to the C-S post.

Ibrado, as some of these people say, will suffer the same fate as that of General Danny Lim.

These plotters, as sources say, intend to justify their move using the failure of the poll automation as an ideological platform. In truth, what this group intends is to prolong the term of Mrs. Arroyo's regime through martial rule. They will use this issue to justify their action.

Likewise, there is truth to talks that some ideologues in Malacanang are thinking about this option in view of the fact that Speaker Prospero Nograles Jr. just lost 47 Congressmen, mostly from Lakas, in the charter change fight. These Congressmen, as some insiders within the Lower House say, will withdraw their signatures from House Resolution 1109.

The plan reportedly by the palace to use Senator Lito Lapid to attend a session in Congress seems credible. Lapid reportedly will attend a session shortly after the SONA to try and express the support of the Senate. His presence will be used by cha-cha adherents to justify the convening of Congress. However, there's a problem. They now lack the required number of Congressmen to support HR 1109.

So, some sources say, palace hawks and ideologues are shifting gears---from the legal to the criminal. And they would surely fail, says Senator Ping Lacson. They will be courting death.

A coup needs the support of junior military officers. The key here is for junior officers to withdraw their support, as some sources suggest, from the chain of command. Military officers have the right not to act upon an illegal order. This is the only way for this self-coup to fail, and fail miserably.

Oplan August Moon

Brace yourself my friends for a tumultuous July. Some months ago, I've wrote an entry about the plan of hawks and ideologues within the Arroyo administration to create scenarios to implement Operation August Moon. This self-coup will happen the week after the SONA, on August 6, 2009. One of the indicators, say a source who requested anonymity, is the expected failure of the poll automation bidding.

" Pat, the plan involves compromising the automated bidding altogether, " says a friend privy to the plan. " Imagine, what was the reason why they approved of Smartmatic-TIM when they know for a fact, that the only capability of the group is face value of Cezar Quiambao and Ernest Villareal. That's all. The so-called consortium which was backed legally by one of Comelec chairman's closest relative was never in existence. They just used the group to get the bidding and eventually the plan was really to mess things up. That would surely create unrest especially to the De Villa group who is pushing for automation of the elections."

COMELEC Chairman Jose Melo said in an Inquirer interview that they don't want to negotiate with a "ghost". Well, I don't know about Melo, but I am totally surprised with Atty. Rafanan. Why did Rafanan failed to even check the credentials of Smartmatic-TIM before they even allowed them to take part in the bidding? Is it elementary for a member of the bar to do that?

This failure of the Comelec just shows that the entire thing was a setup, a design to really sabotage the bidding and compromise the elections in May 2010.

The plan also involves the heightening of tensions between rebel groups and the military in Mindanao since most generals distrust Southcom Brig. General Juancho Sabban. They want to keep Sabban busy in Mindanao so that he'll have his hands full while they orchestrate their moves in Metro Manila.

Sabban is the youngest member of Class 1978 yet he reportedly does not share his mistahs' dogged allegiance to Mrs. Arroyo. He was formerly a member of RAM (Rebolusyunaryong Alyansang Makabansa). Yet, says deeper sources in the military, he'll take extreme action once other members of his class went ahead with Arroyo's plan.

Moves were to create an environment of chaos and confusion, with reports of bombings, assasinations of key government officials and members of the media. These black operations will be blamed to so-called JI or Al-qaeda members who, a week ago, was reportedly in the country already. News about their existence were floated to the media to be used later on by the government in the blame game.

A move against Lacson accuser former police official Cezar Mancao is reportedly also in the pipeline. The source refused to say what would happen to Mancao.

This early, talks that PMA Class 1976 of which the present AFP Chief of Staff General Ibrado belongs to and PMA Class 1978 were already at logger heads. Army Chief Lt. General Delfin Bangit is reportedly filling up sensitive posts without the knowledge of Ibrado.

Bear in mind that all sensitive positions right now in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are occupied by members of Class 1978. The Air Force is headed by Lt. Gen. Oscar Rabena. The entire NCRPO which has, under its disposal, the anti-coup task force, is headed by Chief Supt. Roberto Rosales while the head of the Manila Police District which provides external security of Malacanang right now is headed by Director Rodolfo Magtibay.

Members of Class 1976 occupy the Central Command (Lt. Gen. Isagani Cachuela), the Navy (Vice Admiral Ferdinand Golez) and the Marines (Major Gen. Ben Mohammad Dolorfino). The AFP leadership is also being occupied by a PMA class 1976 member (Ibrado) and the PNP (Director General Jesus Verzosa).

The critical commands (Army and Air Force) are under the command of members of PMA Class 1978 while those with minimal numbers (the Marines and the Navy) were entrusted to PMA Class 1976.

Sources say Mrs. Arroyo's group will ease Ibrado out prior to the 2010 elections. They will use as a pretext this August 6 affair. Members of Class 1978 will move decisively ten days after July 27.

The plan is expected to take place on August 6, 2009, a full ten days after the SONA (SONA is slated on July 27, the Monday of the fourth week of July).

A state of martial rule will be imposed for six months, while members of Arroyo's devilish clan tinker with the Constitution. Parliamentary elections are slated on May 2010.

Other members of Class 1978 involved in this plan:

In GHQ, Camp Aguinaldo:

In the Army, six out of 10 infantry divisions are under the control of the Class of ’78 members, namely:

Maj. Gen. Romeo Lustecteca – CG, 1st Infantry Division (Zamboanga del Norte)

In the Air Force, there is Maj. Gen. Oscar Rabena as Commanding General, and Brig. Gen Jesus Fajardo – CG, 710th Special Operations Wing as well as Col. Carlix Donila – Commander, 530th Air Base Wing (Zamboanga).

And in the Navy, the chief of the Naval Staff, Commodore Feliciano Angue, as well as heading the most strategically-located naval station in Cavite is Commodore Nestor Los Banes.

So now the game of the generals are on! Who'll be check mated in the end?

Now that I already revealed their plan in public, what now? Will they proceed with zero hour or not?

The best strategy against this devilish plan is expose them in public. I already did my part. How about the thousands of Patriots out there? Will you do yours?
