Gigi Reyes, Pauline Labayen and other pork suspects' accounts are no more

If you look at surveys, these polls will tell you how disgusted people are about the pork barrel scam. And when people realize that those involved in this scam have already secured their loot, meaning, they already transferred them to a safe haven already, like what Gigi Reyes, former chief of staff of Senator Enrile did and even Pauline Labayen, former girl friday of Senator Jinggoy Estrada, what would you feel?

The Manila RTC already checked and found that the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) have failed to secure or freeze these assets. This is the problem. Courts should have taken cognizance of these assets and froze them even during the investigation stage of this criminal offense because these people are not mere private individuals--they are government employees or individuals working for government. Government should, even by mere suspicion of impropriety, move to secure these accounts from intervention.

Now, calls for the recovery of the stolen funds are snowballing. The problem is, there is probably no more to recover since these assets, these accounts would now be untrace-able. Except of course, if these thieves tell the truth before the court and surrender the things they stole from the people.

While we entertain ourselves with rants and chants, these scumbags do their homework. Nothing wrong with being angry and expressing one's disgusts.

These times do not anymore call for expressing disgusts and hate. We are already past that stage.

This stage should be about recovery and redemption of what were stolen.

This is what the Kilos Kaayusan led by UP economics professor Benjamin Diokno is trying to tell the public---we need to ask government to do its best in recovering these stolen assets before those involved in the scam  launder them.

President Noynoy does not get it when it comes to justice

Seems that there is something really big happening in the next few days. For one, even the Defense secretary Voltaire Gazmin was heard appealing to the defense establishment, meaning the soldiers to "focus on their jobs, instead of being distracted by the pork barrel scam." Gazmin probably knows something we don't.

Even the President is granting "ambush interviews" with ready-made answers and a prepared Janet Lim-Napoles' letter ready for media consumption in his possession. Rarely do Palace reporters interview the President who, in the past few months, was so busy that he is only seen in public appearances and does not grant media interviews. Now, he is trying to defend himself against accusations that he too, dipped his fingers into the anomalous PDAF scam.

The President is probably being given faulty advice. The issue now is what many sees as "selective justice" in this entire charade. Meaning, this administration is gung-ho in prosecuting its political enemies caught with their hands inside the Napoles' cookie jar but is equally defensive of those allies who committed the same thievery.

What the president fails to see is that the people hope that he really assumes neutrality in all of these things. Being the head of government, Noynoy should be the paragon of good conduct and ethical behavior. He must forget that he is a member of the Liberals and the Hyatt 10 group members are his friends. He is President of the Republic now, and his foremost priority is to see that justice is dispense for and on behalf of the people.

The issue is even in justice, there is politics.

Filipinos are highly sensitive when it comes to the issue of justice. Many Filipinos suffer from injustices almost every single day. They see injustice whenever they buy highly priced foodstuffs, pay exorbitant electricity bills, the highest in the world, and get cut off of their communication when they fail to pay the bill at the exact time. They see injustice when they see the schools of their kids being granted tuition fee hikes every single year while the quality remains the same.

They see injustice when they pay for LRT fares after suffering extreme heat in queue for hours and they see injustice when the tires of their cars get destroyed over potholes in those low quality roads paid for by their road users' tax.

And when Filipinos hear that even those taxes which the Bureau of Internal Revenue are being stolen by a former radio shack operator by the simplest of fakeries, and of their "Honorables" enjoying their loot without any care, and of even the blessings of God through those oil being dug in those seashelves being toyed with, with nary a care, who then, would not think of finally telling government to "shove it" or "time to explode or abolish every single vestige of injustice."

Those three senators might probably be guilty as hell, but same goes to those others now enjoying immunity because they're either Kaibigan (Friend), Kamaganak (Relative), Kabarilan (co-shooter), Kapartido (meaning: Liberal), Kainuman (drinking buddy) or Ka-gimikan sa Kababaihan (hard to translate).

The minute this President realizes his mistake, then, and there, the people would recover their trust and faith in government.

Janet Lim-Napoles demands that she be turned into state witness

Janet Lim-Napoles now demands that she will only cooperate with government as a state witness. She says that she does not want a plea bargaining agreement.

Wow. So, government is offering Lim-Napoles a plea bargaining agreement, the same thing Mrs. Tuason, her dear friend, entered into. Tuason paid government 40 million pesos just to struck her name out of those charged with crimes relating to the pork barrel scam.

Why is government so desperate to help Napoles be a state witness? The reason is quite obvious.

Government fears that probably, they don't have sufficient case against those tagged as co-accused with Napoles. What government had right now are testimonies from alleged whistleblowers and several documents. Yet, admittedly, government needs the testimony or affidavit of Lim-Napoles since she is the one who directly transacted those deals with these politicians, not Benhur Luy.

The thing is, the President himself already said that it is next to impossible for government to accept Napoles as state witness, prejudging the case already and announced something which the public is being asked to accept.

There is now a relentless campaign to justify turning Napoles into a state witness. Look at how Napoles' lawyer, Atty. Bruce Rivera does the rounds. He is being interviewed right and left and even doctors of Napoles are being interviewed to support efforts for the defense not to allow Mrs. Napoles to go back to Sta Rosa jail.

What we are witnessing right now is something despicable. Imagine, the very one who masterminded this scheme is now on the offensive, in terms of propaganda.

She is now on the verge of retaining those billions she stole from the government and probably, and eventually even be turned into a hero. What a bummer.

Janet Lim-Napoles as state witness? Then, why not turn the Ampatuans too?

Janet Lim-Napoles is expected to go under the knife this morning. The alleged mastermind of the monumental billion peso pork barrel scam artist, as what reports picture her to be, was reportedly fearful of her mortality. She wants to confess all.

There's a catch though---she wants to be a state witness. Wow.

Let me oversimplify this matter. There is this high profile thief. She stole billions from government. Government charges her with crimes. Yet, government is unable to establish a strong case. It needs someone to revalidate what sub-principals have alleged.

This thief offers to witness for government. Reason? Well, those billions she keeps in several banks here and abroad. She was deprived briefly of her lavish lifestyle.

Of course, she wants nothing more than preserve her material possessions, which most she got from her years of defrauding many of their monies.

Let us call a spade a spade---I cannot stomach the fact that a killer of dreams like Janet Lim-Napoles will be used by the government in order to pin its case down against those who profited from Napoles' nefarious schemes.

Worse, Justice secretary Leila de Lima even pictured Napoles as a "religious woman", praying the rosary when she arrived at her hospital suite at the Ospital ng Makati. This is outrageous. Of course, a condemned individual would really pray before any Mammon just to save her damned soul.

Janet Lim-Napoles should be prosecuted period. She should spend the rest of her breath in jail. Fact is, many people want even her relatives to suffer like her since they too lavished from the loot she amassed.

Why is this case so different from other cases? Well, precisely not just due to the enormity of the funds Janet Lim-Napoles and her cohorts got from the public coffers, but to the sheer brazenness and simplicity they took those funds from us.

We, who sweat it all out every single day. We, who fear every single time the BIR gets our taxes where would those monies go to. We, who fear for the future of our children because of rising costs of food stuffs, of education, of transportation, of everything.

We who fear for the direction this country is getting itself into, and we who fear every single day what would happen to us when we walk in those unguarded streets and we who line up in kilometer long queues just to get to work, we are the Judge, the People.

Let government use all its power to get the truth out of Lim-Napoles without her serving as state witness. Let us squeeze every juice out of her damned mind and soul, and thereafter, condemn her to a life of perfidity, of perpetual punishment.

I blame the government for this.

They used this controversial issue to hide the ongoing sale of major and critical infrastructures. They are using the issue again to bury the US$30 million extortion attempt made by several officials of the DOTC. They are using this issue to prosecute political enemies. They are using this issue for us not to mind the below the table deals several government officials are doing for the sake of their chosen political bets come 2016.

In approaching this issue, government has not been as brutally honest as what most people expect it to be. Instead of applying the law, government use and will use this high-profile thief as a political tool.

Let Justice prevail. Prosecute Janet Lim Napoles and all those barong-clad thieves in our midst. Let the full force of the People's justice be applied to all of them. Instead of "baby-ing" these thieves, use the full force of the Republic in getting the juice out of them.

Political implications of jailing three incumbent Senators--linked to the passage of the Bangsamoro basic law and Cha-Cha?

The Department of Justice has recommended the filing of graft charges against three incumbent senators. The Ombudsman is expected to follow suit. In the first of three expected "filing surges", three senators have been charged---Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada and Bong Revilla. These people are being accused of using their PDAF that funded bogus NGOs established by pork barrel scam queen Janet Lim-Napoles.

Senator Chiz Escudero and his colleague, Bong Bong Marcos expressed contrasting views on this, symptomatic of how divided the middle and upper middle class forces are when it comes to this issue.

Marcos, a political ally of Enrile and Estrada, called for sobriety. Marcos used the presumption of innocence card, saying that these senators ought to be given their day in court and should be treated not as criminals, but as "innocents." They haven't been adjudged guilty yet of the crime charged and therefore, as "innocent" as any other citizen out there.

Well, this is partially true. For one, a governmental agency has already found sufficient evidence to support the previous charges of graft. It will be now up to the courts, meaning the Sandiganbayan, to determine if these charges do satisfy the requisites of the crime as charged.

Escudero has expressed a view far away from the "adjudged innocent until proven guilty" view by saying that these senators deserve "common jail cells" instead of special ones. I simply dont know what Escudero means about "common cells", but if his class is to be asked, the "common cell" probably describes a nice room complete with airconditioning.

Both gentlemen missed the bus so to speak when it comes to this issue. For one, these fine gentlemen may never be jailed at all, because of the political implications of such a move by the State.

Everyone knows that in the next few months in Congress, one critical issue remains before legislators to resolve---the Bangsamoro Law.

Aquino and the MILF have signed the Bangsamoro agreement, the first legal step towards the creation of the Bangsamoro Law. Aquino is very persistent in this. He wants to leave a legacy, since he already failed on curbing graft and corruption and poverty.

The Chief Executive has done his thing. It is now up to Congress to verify what the Chief Executive had accomplished in so short a time.

In such constitutional issues, both Houses are expectedly to vote separately. With three anti-administration senators out of the picture, it would now very easy for the palace to push for their agenda since they already "politically neuthered" the House. Fact is, any administration backed measure is sure to pass the "scrunity" of the House.

Is this part of the ultimate strategy--to prevent those who are at the other side of the political fence to make their moves and oppose this Aquino legacy from being implemented?

I hope in the future, anti-graft campaigns are used to really prosecute the sinners and not those whose sin is they believe otherwise.

Nabcor scam a diversionary tactic

Seems like the spinmeisters of this entire pork barrel caper are having a very hard time trying to hide the biggest scam ever---the missing 5.8 billion pesos from the Nabcor and Department of Agriculture funds. The Commission on Audit has already released their special audit report. Yet, the high and mighty deemed it wise not to provide their trusty writers "over there" with enough ammunition to tell the public that, hey, these funds were used as political kitty by favored administration bets.

Instead of this meaty and incendiary news, they feed us with showbiz propaganda--the alleged involvement of two members of the media who allegedly received 235,567 pesos as "advertising expenses".  The spinmeisters trained their sights on these two gentlemen so that public attention is directed at them, and not the true masterminds of deceit and theft.

People are talking about how less than half a million pesos were spent for advertising expenses, but not how Allan Javellana orchestrated the entire thing to divert millions to Napoles' bogus NGOs. There are talks that the Department of Justice is thinking of presenting Allan Javellana as a witness. My gulai! Javellana could not be a state witness simply because there is overwhelming evidence proving that he is a directly involved in the scam.

There is talk that Javellana's cousin, a former student leader, is in talks with Justice secretary Leila de Lima. This cousin is appealing to de Lima to give his cousin some slack and instead of putting Allan behind bars, to give him some consideration and turn him into a state witness.

And why will de Lima listen to him?

This student leader portrays himself as a water advocate. However, what he is, is far from what he claims to be. The reason why he was kicked out by the movement was because of his syndicalism. He is a gun-for-hire, a hitman of lost causes.

This guy claims to hold sensitive information that would pin members of the Aquino administration over some controversy, which, unknown to de Lima, is entirely bollocks.

This administration should not be selective in its approach in this scam. Those chips should fall where they may. Tamaan ang dapat tamaan. If we want to change things, let those even political allies and kabarilan, kaibigan, katextsan, kapamilya, kapuso, kapatid o ka gimikan be subject to trial.

In defense of Erwin Tulfo and Melo del Prado

Call Erwin Tulfo with whatever you could dish out but I will stake my reputation and say that Erwin Tulfo is no thief of public funds and definitely not a push-over.

Same goes to my good old friend, Melo del Prado of DZBB. These people are being villified in public for allegedly receiving "payoffs" or "payolas" by no less than these two alleged whistleblowers of Nabcor.

Broadcasters like Melo and Erwin are given by their respective radio stations what we in the industry call " premiums". Premiums are actually advertising spots, usually worth about 2 minutes (meaning, 4 30 seconders). This is either part of their monthly salary or on top of a monthly pay. This is an accepted practice in the industry.

Radio stations give these broadcasters some leeway in looking out for potential advertisers. Fact is, radio stations are very strict when it comes to premiums. Broadcasters are not allowed to go to advertisers who already place their ads directly with the station. Hence, in most instances, these broadcasters content themselves with very small accounts just to fill in their premiums.

I know how difficult life is for Melo del Prado, an honest guy since he began his career over at DZMM as a radyo patrol. Del Prado is a self-made man. He got his spurs covering every single beat out there. He distinguished himself by dishing out incisive news reports and views which made him one of our country's top broadcast journalists.

I don't know how Melo takes this all in but the guy has a family. I have known him for two decades already and he is not the type of guy who will do what we in the industry call "ac-dc" or attack-collect, defend-collect. No.

Melo is honest in his dealings with people, especially PR men. He does not take any money. He relishes though the company of people, especially those who give him exclusive insights on the way government deals with private companies or when he is given information about graft and corruption in government.

It is totally unthinkable for Melo to accept bribe money. I think the Inquirer should have triple checked their facts and exercised due diligence before they even wrote the story against  Tulfo and del Prado.

For one, isn't obvious that both guys received the same amount of alleged "advertising expenses"? This just shows that these two guys received advertising money based on their respective ad rates. The sum of "200,000" is a pittance really and why would a person receive an amount as exact as "235,000plus"? And if that is bribe money, then, why was it processed using checks? Bribes are supposed to be "below the radar" and not as "above board" as these facts alleged by the Inquirer.

Justice secretary Leila de Lima should not dignify such allegations since, it is quite obvious that the facts being given here by these two alleged whistleblowers is an obvious attempt at diverting attention.

The one being grilled here is Allan Javellana. Allan Javellana ordered his staff to process papers for the diversion of public funds from the senator's PDAF to Janet Lim-Napoles' bogus NGOs. This Allan Javellana should be exposed and he should be the target of Inquirer's hunt for big-time Napoles clones, and not those who sweat it out for a mere "200,000".

And in the spirit of fairness, why did the Inquirer and the DOJ stopped themselves from naming an alleged "third broadcaster" who allegedly received two million pesos? Whoever that was, two million pesos is obviously bribe money because it was not as transparent a transaction like what Tulfo and del Prado obviously had with Nabcor.

Tulfo and Melo should file libel charges against those who villified them. This is a clear case of libel.

It seems to me that there is an obvious attempt to frighten members of the media, for reasons still unknown to me. I think people behind this caper realized that public interest has now waned considerably regarding this long-running pork barrel teledrama, that they fear that graft charges against certain members of the Aquino family would now surface anytime soon, what with the Inekon scandal just waiting in the wings.

And to avert that, they are now trying to make a mountain out of an ant's hill just so to protect the very names of the true thieves in barong who still lurks out there and some are even serving the very administration who portrays itself as a reformist.

Pork barrel issue a big election issue come 2016

I've been privy to a very confidential survey which shows that graft and corruption or the pork barrel scam is a big factor which voters would consider before considering a candidate for an elective post. It shows 85% of the electorate would not vote for someone involved in the pork barrel scam.

The pork barrel scam is one of the most serious issue to hit the headlines for centuries. This issue has all the elements of a melodrama, something which glued people to their TV screens for hours and spur people to talk about it for hours. The next big issue after this seems to be the Vhong Navarro mauling and Freddie Aguilar's marriage to a teenager.

This administration will be judged based on what it does with the enormous pieces of evidence the DOJ has in its possession. Of course, the DOJ has already filed the appropriate charges before the Ombudsman, yet, the Lady Ombudsman seems very busy touring the world for seminars and speaking opportunities rather than attend to these cases. What is most worrisome is when this issue transcends this year and spills over next year, which, for all intents and purposes, is an election year. Fact is, the middle of this year is the start of political intramurals among aspirants for the top Executive post come 2016.

In any case, personalities involved in this scam will find it extremely difficult to resuscitate their respective political careers come 2016.

What is the effect of this scam to the political configurations for 2016? Read on to the next blog entry.

Exorcising Ruby Tuason and Dennis Cunanan

Ruby Tuason and Dennis Cunanan are being positioned by their handlers as innocent lambs unaware of things going on in their lives. They are being hailed as "saints" when in truth and in fact, they are part of the very system that cheated us, ordinary citizens, of our monies.

At the Ateneo forum where Tuason attended, she is being portrayed as someone who cared for the poor who visited Senator Jinggoy Estrada's office. Bull. Crap.

Cunanan, for his part, says that he is not a party to this widespread corruption and is trying very hard to convince us, the public, that he was just forced to do what he said he did, unknowingly. Bull. Crap.

Cunanan, just to refresh the people's memories, is an active supporter of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. He once served as a youth organizer for Gloria after his fraternity brother, former Presidential adviser Mike Defensor recommended him to his La Vista neighbor. Cunanan never graduated from college and he made his spurs serving as a loyal follower of the former president.

Like others, Cunanan was rehabilitated by this administration, probably because some of his fraternity brothers work for the present administration. Nothing wrong, except that it is common knowledge that Cunanan grew in wealth and in influence during the time of Arroyo and continued on at the time of Aquino.

Ruby Tuason for her part, is trying very hard to convince us that she never orchestrated the whole thing. That it was just Janet Lim-Napoles show and she was sincere in approving all those projects because she wants to help people. That is the most stupid lie I have ever heard in my entire life.

Don't ever tell me that Tuason never counted those millions she and her friend, Napoles, took from us. Tuason is no saint. Why is she being made to portray a role she will never ever win an Oscar with baffles me. This is one Tuason who confessed of being a crook and probably just made this revelation because she felt that this administration is dead serious in prosecuting people who really stole the people's monies big time.

Cunanan travelled all over the world and don't tell me that he spent his own monies. Where did he get those millions?

They have spent most of their lives using the very monies we put in government and a product of our hard work. Now, they us to believe that they did not profit from these things, that they are saints or even angels who were just influenced by demons for years.

Disgusting. Tell it to the marines. Better yet, tell it to Davao city mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

Snacks, not kickbacks says beleaguered Senator Jinggoy Estrada

Snacks not kickbacks are what Ruby Tuason always give to senator Jinggoy estrada whenever they see each other. What Jinggoy failed to say is if those snacks contain stacks of cash.

Or, if those "snacks" actually meant "cash" since "cash" means "dough" in some languages.

Senator Teofisto Guingona reportedly scored a 3-point shot with Tuason's testimony yesterday, causing guffaws from the octogenarian senator juan ponce enrile who probably thought that the testimony hit him when in fact, that testimony practically cleared Enrile from the hot spot not if you equate Gigi Reyes with Enrile? Tuason says it was Gigi who gets the kickbacks from her personally, not the savvy corporate lawyer turned legislator.

Vice president Binay meanwhile said, Tuason's alleged testimony was a "dud", as if he's anticipating a "war". Well, Guingona thinks this whole thing is just a basketball game, I just don't know why Binay thinks this is a war.

While I'm not surprised at all, why Jinggoy thinks this is all a snack.

I think the only one not smiling here is Janet Lim-Napoles.

Ruby Tuason--bagman with a conscience

Ruby Tuason's smile is gone. She used to be bubbly. Now, with a humongous and detestable scam affixed to her surname forever, Ruby is now a woman with a mission.

In an interview with good friend, Nancy Carvajal of the Inquirer, Ruby says that her friends stopped texting her last Christmas when her name got mentioned as one of the people used by Janet Lim-Napoles as her "bagmen". Imagine, a Tuason as bagman?

The name "Tuason" used to stuck a cord of respectability in social circles for millennia, not until rumors swirled about indiscretions committed by a Tuason before. But, that's forgive-able. What is unfortunate and unthinkable is when a Tuason is linked with thievery of people's monies. No Tuason is a thief. Fact is, Tuasons are vast landowners of lands in the Metro and it is highly unthinkable that one of them would succumb to a few millions from scandals like these. They used to count monies in the billions.

Yet, it happened anyway.

My sources told me that Ruby had already signed a check representing the "commissions" she took from Napoles' projects. To be precise, those commissions arose from her "transactions" with certain political personalities among those, former president Joseph Estrada and his son, Jinggoy.

What prodded Ruby to come out of her shell and reveal what she knew about the scam? Well, her breeding probably did the trick. Ruby is known to be a very devout Catholic. I just don't know why she threw her religion out of the window when she got involved in that pork barrel scam.

When the dread of mortality sets in, and conscience starts eating that soul, those guilty of evil works began their way towards admission and ownership of responsibility. I always believe that people are inherently good until they sniff the smell of money in the air, and its repeated a billion times over.

So, there.

Janet Lim-Napoles " non-chalance" at Senate--nakakabastos!

That's what happens when we take comfort in all "democratic" and "legal" ways just to ferret the truth---we always get mocked as a people.

Look at what Janet Lim-Napoles did today at the Senate. She not only mocked the Senators who looked practically like buffoons asking questions and being given either monosyllabic answers or downright shrug---Napoles actually spat and mocked and humiliated an entire Nation.

For that, she deserves our everlasting condemnation.

Bam Aquino asked the most substantial---so, if it's not you and you did not do this, then, who did this scheme that the Commission on Audit says lead to the loss of billions of pesos of the people's monies? Malay ko, says Napoles.

This is what happens when we treat criminals and heartless people like this with decency--they will spit you in the face.

That Napoles scene reminds me of the Linda Blair scene out of The Exorcist. When the priest was saying his prayer to get the demon out of the nubile body of Blair, and the old priest was very kind, what did the demon do? He spat on the face of the priest.

Napoles had the gall to even find refuge in the person of the Office of the Ombudsman. Now, she has the legal reason why she should not even share one bit of info about her modus operandi.

I just thought about it---today's sad scene would have been different had a torturer been there lurking  either beside or at the back of Napoles. Or, that chair which Napoles sat had a contraption that every time she lies, electricity flows out and hits her body.

Honestly, I am losing all hope that something good will come out of this thing.

We have been mocked.

We, whose monies were stolen,

We, whose dignity as a people was effectively slapped and spit out,

We, whose hard-earned taxes were partitioned by a greedy bunch of people,

well, will actually stay as slaves and will be humiliated forever by the very people in power.

We will never recover these billions which were robbed from us.

Janet Lim-Napoles defense before Senate Blue Ribbon: " I am not a thief."

Justice secretary Leila de Lima expects nothing from Janet Lim-Napoles' testimony before the Senate blue ribbon committee today. For one, says De Lima, the Senate does not provide a blanket immunity from suit, which Napoles knows. Fact is, since the very nature of this inquiry is "in aid of legislation",  the Senate is there to establish whether or not a law was violated and ergo, has to be amended, or repealed. Or maybe, a new law is necessary basing on what Napoles will disclose today.

The thing is, how can Napoles reveal something when there is a case filed against her before the Office of the Ombudsman already. This case is like a Damocles sword hanging above her head. An admission, though can actually be struck down as an evidence before the court, nonetheless, directly affects perception of her. The timing is terrible. Imagine, the Office of the Ombudsman is now in the process of validating the findings of the NBI and here is Napoles, being watched by his probers, telling all before Senators? Who will agree to that?

At best, here are possible "quotable quotes" from Napoles today.

" I am not a thief."

" I did not steal those billions. It came from my legitimate business in Indonesia which I will not disclose."

" They are lying (directed to Benhur Luy). They just want my money."

" It is not me who orchestrated all of these things. This is the handiwork of another."

" Kuya naman, please, madami ka nang kuha sa akin (pointing to cameramen and photogs). Hindi pa naman ako naka make-up."

" Your Honors please, I invoke my right to self-incrimination."

" Your Honors please, pwede bang mag -cr?"

"Your Honors please, pinanganak akong bilyonaryo."

Threats against Janet Lim-Napoles and real threats from groups wanting to hijack the legitimate cause of the People

Janet Lim-Napoles, the so-called mastermind behind the pork barrel scam, is reportedly scared to her wits. And rightly so. Yes, Napoles may be assassinated by those whom she transacted before, but, the most interesting thing about Napoles' case is the brutal fact that every single Pinoy out there is desirous for more blood, her blood, to be exact, to be spilt. There may be a basis for saying that threats against her life have increased exponentially since her so-called "operation" was exposed, but I think those threats come from the people themselves. Hence, even the most sophisticated jail cell in the world will and cannot deter a possible assassin from harming Napoles, since, every Filipino right now feels that he has the right to at least pinch Napoles' ears.

This is the first time in Philippine history that the masses are genuinely angry. TV Patrol has been doing man on the street interviews for the past couple of days, and the angry reactions of the citizenry are signs of not just a brewing revolt, but a mass-led catastrophe that threatens the very existence of governmental institutions in our country. Many people now believe that it is time for us to overhaul the entire system and replace it with something new.

What is dangerous is that the once silent allies of administrations past have seen an opportunity to re-invigorate themselves before the public. Those who feel politically prosecuted, those who know they are guilty of robbing us of billions, and those who suspect that they are "next on the chopping block" have now banded together against the Aquino administration. Yes, there is a natural expression of the people's anger against Aquino right now, and I'll not be surprised that after that "escort Napoles caper", expect a decisive drop in Aquino's popularity ratings.

Yes, I am saying that forces are at work against Aquino and for many reasons. One,groups who oppose the Bangsamoro peace deal and who thinks that the only solution is ouster. Two, there are other groups who oppose the RH bill and feel that it is time to hit Aquino back. Three, there are remnants of the previous dispensation who also fear that they're next to be prosecuted for their misdeeds. Four, there are groups who transacted with Napoles and realizes that this administration is dead serious on knowing the truth and prosecuting those guilty and fifth, those who always call for the abolition of this present system.

This is their time to unite and shine, so to speak. So the possibility of a genuine people's revolt being hijacked by forces with personal, political and selfish interests is real.  And the bottomline is simply tons of money, trillions in fact.

Imagine how juicy the situation is right now---you have a growing economy. You have an open and liberal environment. Many investors have expressed desire to set up shop here, and many projects are in the pipeline, every single one, billions of pesos. You have a more efficient taxation system, and surely, the government has enough money now for the politicians to toy with.

So there. These groups are not fighting for justice, oh no. These groups are not equally disgusted about how a few people scammed their way to the banks, definitely no because during their time, they too, dipped their fingers in the largesse.

These groups want to ascend to the rungs of power once more to enjoy the perks and privileges. They will not be interested probably with pork, because protection and facilitation money is a bigger racket in government than anything else. Their struggle will definitely be about money.

Opps......I forgot one other group, the Chinese-funded ones. They are also actively participating since they want nothing more than hijack this government and make it a friendlier one with China.

Yes, let me repeat myself to avoid being misinterpreted.

There is a genuine anger being expressed by the people. The people want to move. The people thirst for justice. The people are asking for blood.

What is dangerous is the possibility of this "anger" being hijacked by unscrupulous forces out there who are equally if not more guilty than the present dispensation in robbing us of our hard-earned monies. The danger is they may move against this administration, and win. If they win, expect a perpetual struggle against other contending forces.

If this group wins, surely, expect me to be the first one to struggle and even militate against them.

It is time for real change.

Janet Lim-Napoles' re-appearance being timed for what?

For the past five days, I've been hearing some unverified news that Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged brains behind the infamous pork barrel scam, may be under the "safekeeping" of a few personalities linked to the previous Arroyo administration. Reports say that the reason why she was being kept was to deter efforts of this administration to safely put her under government custody so that she will not be able to "spill the beans" so to speak, against political allies of this government.

This news comes from several underground sources who knew the operations of several people involved in the same racket as Janet's. What makes Janet different from these people is the fact that Janet reportedly enjoys the protection and trust of several high-ranking military and police officials. Some of them are still active in the establishment.

Janet's close associates decided to hide her after the government was alarmed when she turned up "un-planned" and "un-announced" before editors of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Her presence there was not simply for publicity purposes but was interpreted by several high-profile personalities as her "tendency" to break the code of silence.

It seems that there is a purported plan to spring Janet out of hiding and make her "revelations" public, while revealing alleged personalities now politically allied with this administration. Her re-appearance is being perfectly timed by her handlers.

I would not lend credence to this, because, for a fact, public ire is simply directed against her. The longer she stays out of the limelight, the better for her handlers. However, it seems that these high-profile personalities want to use her as a justification for an action against this administration. Enemies of this administration have vowed to oust this government shortly after its third year.

If Janet balks and her pronouncements hit this government, surely, this will eventually cause the political assassination and death of  Noynoy Aquino, whose platform is anchored on anti-corruption.

Janet Lim-Napoles and her alleged wealth exposed by PDI

Let's take Janet Lim-Napoles' defense saying that she is involved in the coal business. And let's grant it to her that she does not have any dealings with the government. The question is--where do Napoles sells her coal?

Does she directly sell her coal to energy producers? How many of them? Can she explain how to profit from selling coal? Where did she get the coal? Here or abroad? If here, then, Napoles still deals with government.

Is she an importer or exporter of coal? Nothing really concrete here, except that Napoles uses this as a defense for those who question where she gets tons of her money.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) must have known her business dealings, because every single transaction should have been recorded and submitted to the BIR. The question really is, why is there no record of her dealings or if there are any, why is there no report about it to the AMLA perhaps?

The story published right now at the Philippine Daily Inquirer reeks of direct thievery, if this story is to be believed. With just a "magic touch" in the documents, and of course, with connivance with "high government officials", Napoles was able to trick government of about 10 billion pesos, something which, to my mind, is either an overestimation or just a tip of a humongous iceberg of collective thievery.

It is unthinkable that Napoles did all these just by herself, if these whistleblowers are to be believed. If a ragtag team of less than ten people can actually steal government money that easily, there is a very serious problem in our system especially in our procurement of funds law. This law should either be halved or altogether blasted into smithereens.

Public money should be protected at all cost. These revelations about Napoles' scheme just shows how vulnerable and how inept government is in protecting and safeguarding hard-earned monies of the people. If this happened in other countries, Napoles and her husband would have been unfairly judged, and eventually shot or hanged in a public square.

No. Our people are not barbarians. They will still give some decent space for an accused such as Napoles to answer or defend herself.

This is the reason why corruption persists in this society. We don't know when to become ruthless against people who toy with our monies and when to kill or to save a life.

If these stories are indeed true, then, those responsible for this should not just be hanged. These people should be shot publicly, their insides exposed for all the world to see, and their bodies hacked to several pieces and given to hungry street dogs. Their whole families should be shot as well, since they benefitted from the strivings of many and caused the poverty, even the deaths of many. Their wealth should be sequestered, sold and given back to the public coffers.
